Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the scale and all accessories from the packaging.
- Placement: Place the scale on a firm, level, and vibration-free surface. Ensure it is away from direct sunlight, drafts, and heat sources.
- Power Supply:
- Battery Operation: Open the battery compartment on the underside of the scale and insert the required batteries (check battery type and polarity).
- AC Adaptor (Optional): If using the AC adaptor, plug it into the scale's power input jack and then into a suitable wall outlet.
- Initial Power On: Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the scale. The display will show "88888" then "0.0g" (or the last used unit) when ready.
Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off
- To turn on: Press the ON/OFF button.
- To turn off: Press and hold the ON/OFF button until the display turns off. The scale also features an auto-off function to conserve power.
2. Basic Weighing
- Ensure the scale is on a stable surface and displays "0.0g".
- Gently place the item to be weighed on the center of the weighing pan.
- Wait for the reading to stabilize. The "STABLE" indicator will appear on the display.
- Read the weight displayed on the LCD.
3. Tare Function (Zeroing a Container)
The tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container, so only the net weight of the contents is measured.
- Place the empty container on the weighing pan. The display will show its weight.
- Press the →0/T← (RE-ZERO) button. The display will return to "0.0g" and the "NET" indicator will appear.
- Add the items to be weighed into the container. The display will show the net weight of the items.
- To clear the tare, remove the container from the pan and press the →0/T← button again.
4. Changing Units of Measure
The HT-300 supports multiple units of measure (g, oz, lb-oz, ozt, N).
- With the scale on, press the HOLD button repeatedly to cycle through the available units.
- Stop pressing when your desired unit is displayed.
5. Hold Function
The hold function allows you to temporarily freeze the displayed weight, even after the item is removed from the pan.
- While an item is on the pan and the weight is stable, press and hold the HOLD button for a few seconds. The display will show "HOLD" or a similar indicator.
- The weight will remain displayed even if the item is removed.
- To release the hold, press the HOLD button again.
Maintenance
Cleaning:
- Wipe the scale surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
- For stubborn stains, use a mild detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents.
- Ensure no liquid enters the interior of the scale.
- The stainless steel pan can be removed for more thorough cleaning if necessary.
Storage:
- When not in use for extended periods, store the scale in its clear carry-case to protect it from dust and damage.
- Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- If using batteries, remove them if the scale will not be used for a long time to prevent leakage.
