Operation

Basic Functions

  • Left-Click: Primary selection and activation.
  • Right-Click: Accesses contextual menus.
  • Scroll Wheel: Scrolls through documents and web pages. The scroll wheel can also be pressed for a middle-click function.

BlueTrack Technology

The mouse utilizes Microsoft BlueTrack Technology, which combines the power of optical tracking with the precision of laser tracking. This allows for remarkable tracking on virtually any surface, including rough park benches or carpets, but not on clear glass or mirrored surfaces.

Ambidextrous Design

The symmetrical design of the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 ensures comfortable use for both left-handed and right-handed users.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

The mouse operates on a single AA alkaline battery, providing up to eight months of battery life. When the battery power is low, the battery status indicator light will alert you. Replace the battery as described in the Setup section.

Cleaning

To clean your mouse, gently wipe it with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the surface.

Storing the Nano Transceiver

For convenience and to prevent loss during travel, the nano transceiver can be securely stowed in a dedicated slot on the underside of the mouse.

Troubleshooting

Mouse Not Responding

  • Check Battery: Ensure the AA battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
  • Check Power Switch: Verify that the On/Off switch on the mouse's underside is in the 'On' position.
  • Check Transceiver: Ensure the nano transceiver is securely plugged into a working USB port on your computer. Try a different USB port if issues persist.
  • Re-establish Connection: Some systems may require re-pairing. Consult your computer's documentation for wireless device pairing instructions.

Tracking Issues

  • Surface Compatibility: While BlueTrack Technology works on many surfaces, it may not track on clear glass or mirrored surfaces. Use on an opaque, non-reflective surface.
  • Clean Sensor: Ensure the optical sensor on the bottom of the mouse is clean and free of debris.
