Goobay 12035 USB-A Crimp Plug Instruction Manual

Model: 12035

Introduction

The Goobay 12035 is a USB-A plug designed for solderless crimp mounting, providing a convenient solution for repairing or custom-building USB cables. This plug includes an integrated strain relief mechanism to ensure durability and a secure connection. It is supplied as a single set per polybag, ready for immediate use.

Setup and Assembly

This USB-A plug is designed for easy assembly without the need for soldering. Follow these steps to properly connect your cable:

  1. Prepare the Cable: Carefully strip the outer jacket of your USB cable to expose the four internal wires (typically red, white, green, and black). Ensure the wires are not damaged.
  2. Arrange Wires: Identify the correct pinout for your USB-A connection. Typically, red is VCC (+5V), white is D- (Data-), green is D+ (Data+), and black is GND (Ground). It is crucial to align these wires correctly with the corresponding terminals on the plug.
  3. Insert Wires: Insert each stripped wire into its designated slot on the internal connector block. Ensure the wires are fully seated.
  4. Crimp Connection: Once all wires are correctly positioned, close the plug's housing. The design of the Goobay 12035 allows for a crimp-style connection by simply pressing the components together. Apply firm, even pressure until the plug is securely closed and the wires are firmly gripped.
  5. Secure Strain Relief: Ensure the cable is properly seated within the integrated strain relief mechanism to prevent bending and damage at the connection point.
