Setup Guide
1. Unpacking
Carefully remove the Pyle PTA4 amplifier from its packaging. Ensure all components are present: the amplifier unit and the user manual. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage during transit.

2. Connecting Audio Sources
The PTA4 offers multiple input options for various audio devices:
- RCA Inputs (CD, AUX1, AUX2): Connect audio devices such as CD players, tuners, tape decks, camcorders, or VCRs to the corresponding RCA input pairs on the rear panel.
- 1/4'' MIC Input Jack: Located on the rear panel, this input is for connecting a microphone.
- 3.5mm AUX-IN Jack: Conveniently located on the front panel, this input allows connection of portable devices like iPods, MP3 players, or smartphones.
- REC RCA Output: This output allows you to connect the amplifier to a tape deck or other recording device for recording purposes.
3. Connecting Speakers
Connect your speakers to the push-type speaker terminals on the rear panel. Ensure correct polarity (red for positive, black for negative). The total speaker impedance must be at least 4 Ohms per channel in stereo mode. This amplifier is designed for a pair of speakers (left and right channels).

4. Power Connection
Before plugging in the unit, verify the voltage selector switch on the rear panel is set to the correct voltage for your region (110V/60Hz for USA/Canada or 220V/50Hz for European operation). Once set, connect the power cord to a suitable electrical outlet.
Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off
Press the POWER switch on the front panel to turn the amplifier on or off. The Power On LED indicator will illuminate when the unit is active.
2. Input Selection
Use the rotary input selector knob on the front panel to choose your desired audio source (AUX1, AUX2, CD, or the front 3.5mm AUX-IN).
3. Volume and Tone Controls
- Master Volume: Adjust the overall output volume using the large VOLUME knob.
- Bass/Treble: Use the BASS and TREBLE rotary knobs to adjust the low and high frequency response of the audio, respectively (+/-12 dB at 100 Hz/10 kHz).
- Balance: The BALANCE knob allows you to adjust the audio output between the left and right channels.
- Mic Volume: Control the microphone input level using the MIC VOLUME knob.
4. Pager and Mixing Modes
The amplifier features a switch on the rear panel to select between Pager and Mixing modes:
- Pager Mode: When set to 'pager', the signal from AUX1, AUX2, and CD inputs will be attenuated by -12 dB, and the signal from the microphone will override for paging (Auto Talkover). This is ideal for announcements.
- Mixing Mode (Karaoke): When set to 'mixing', signals from AUX1, AUX2, CD, and MIC will all be active simultaneously. This mode is suitable for karaoke, allowing music to play while you sing through a connected microphone.
5. Headphone Jack
The 1/4'' Headphone Jack on the front panel accepts headphones with 1/4-inch plugs. Plugging in headphones will mute the main speaker outputs.
6. Bluetooth 5.1 Connectivity
The Pyle PTA4 amplifier supports Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless audio streaming. To connect your device:
- Ensure the amplifier is powered on.
- Select the Bluetooth input on the amplifier (if available via the input selector, or it may automatically switch when a Bluetooth device is paired).
- Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone or other audio device.
- Search for "Pyle" or "PTA4" in your device's Bluetooth settings and pair.
- Once paired, you can stream audio wirelessly to the amplifier.

Maintenance
Replaceable Power Fuse
The amplifier is equipped with a fuse for protection against power surges and short circuits. If the amplifier suddenly turns off and will not power on, check the fuse located on the rear panel. Disconnect the power cord before attempting to replace the fuse. Replace it with a 1.5-amp, 250-volt, fast-acting 0.2 x 0.8 inches fuse (not included).
