Setup and Surface Preparation

For New Tile Installations:
- Ensure all tiles are securely set and the adhesive has fully cured according to its manufacturer's instructions.
- Clean any excess adhesive from the grout lines.
- The grout lines should be clean and dry before application.
For Existing Tile (Regrouting/Repairs):
- Remove approximately 1/16 inch of the old grout using a grout rake or appropriate tool.
- Thoroughly scrub the surface of the tile and grout lines with a tile cleaner to remove any dirt, mildew, or residue.
- Rinse the area thoroughly with clean water and allow it to dry completely before applying new grout.

Application Instructions
Red Devil Pre-Mixed Tile Grout is ready to use directly from the container. No mixing is required.
- Apply Grout: Using a grout float or a suitable applicator, apply the grout to the tile surface, working it into each joint thoroughly. Ensure all gaps are filled completely.
- Work In and Finish: Work the grout into the joints with a sponge or grout float. For new installations, finish the joints with a grout float to achieve a smooth, uniform appearance.
- Initial Cleanup (15 minutes): After approximately 15 minutes, once the grout has begun to set up, remove any excess grout from the top of the tiles with a damp sponge. Wipe diagonally across the tiles to avoid pulling grout from the joints.
- Final Polish (1 hour): Wait about one hour after initial cleanup, then polish and buff the tiles with a clean, dry cloth to remove any remaining haze and achieve a clean finish.
- Curing Time: Allow the grout to cure for 48 hours before applying any grout sealer or exposing the area to heavy moisture or traffic.

Maintenance
To maintain the appearance and performance of your grouted surfaces:
- Cleaning: For routine cleaning, use mild soap and water. Avoid harsh abrasive cleaners or strong chemicals that could damage the grout.
- Spills: Wipe up spills promptly to prevent staining, especially with acidic or colored liquids.
- Storage: Store any unused grout in its original, tightly sealed container in a cool, dry place to prevent it from drying out.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Grout is too thick/hard to work with. | Container not sealed properly, or stored in a warm environment. | Ensure container is tightly sealed after each use. Store in a cool, dry place. For slightly stiff grout, try stirring it thoroughly. If it's too dry, it may not be usable. |
| Grout appears off-white or discolored after drying. | Incomplete cleaning of tile surface or old grout residue; environmental factors. | Ensure thorough cleaning of the surface and grout lines before application. Allow adequate drying time. Some environmental factors or underlying surface colors can subtly affect the final appearance. |
| Grout cracking or crumbling. | Insufficient application, movement in substrate, or improper curing. | Ensure grout lines are completely filled. Verify substrate stability. Allow full 48-hour cure time before exposing to stress. Reapply grout to affected areas if necessary. |
