2.1 Connecting the Phone

  1. Connect the Handset: Plug the coiled cord from the handset into the designated port on the side or back of the phone base.
  2. Connect the Line Cord: Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the 'Line' port on the back of the OpenStage 30 T phone. Connect the other end to the appropriate digital extension port on your PBX system or wall jack provided by your system administrator.

If your specific setup requires an external power supply (not included), connect it to the designated power port and then to an electrical outlet.

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your OpenStage 30 T phone. As this is a system phone, many issues may require intervention from your PBX system administrator.

5.1 No Power / Display Off

  • Check Line Connection: Ensure the telephone line cord is securely connected to both the phone and the wall jack/PBX port.
  • Consult Administrator: If the connection is secure and the phone still has no power, there might be an issue with the digital line or the PBX system. Contact your system administrator.

5.2 No Dial Tone

  • Check Handset/Speakerphone: Ensure the handset is properly seated or the speakerphone is activated.
  • Verify Line Connection: Confirm the line cord is firmly connected.
  • System Issue: A lack of dial tone often indicates an issue with the PBX system or the specific extension. Contact your system administrator.

5.3 Poor Call Quality

  • Adjust Volume: Use the volume keys to adjust the listening volume.
  • Check Handset/Speakerphone: Ensure the handset is clean and free from obstructions, or that you are speaking clearly into the speakerphone microphone.
  • Line Interference: Interference can sometimes be caused by other electronic devices. If the issue persists, report it to your system administrator.
