1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the Casio SA-46 32 Mini-Keys Keyboard. The SA-46 is a compact electronic keyboard designed for beginners, featuring 32 mini-sized keys, a variety of tones and rhythms, and built-in drum pads. It is suitable for learning and recreational music playing.

3. Setup

3.1 Power Supply

The Casio SA-46 can be powered by batteries or an optional AC adaptor.

Using Batteries:

  1. Open the battery compartment cover located on the underside of the keyboard.
  2. Insert six (6) AA-size alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: Batteries are not included and must be purchased separately.

Using an AC Adaptor:

3.2 Initial Power On

After connecting the power source, slide the POWER switch to the "ON" position. The LCD display will illuminate, indicating the keyboard is ready for use.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Playback

4.2 Headphone Use

For quiet practice, connect standard stereo headphones (3.5mm jack) to the headphone socket located on the side of the keyboard. When headphones are connected, sound will not be emitted from the built-in speakers.

4.3 Song Bank

The keyboard includes a song bank with various pre-recorded tunes. Refer to the labels on the keyboard's control panel for song numbers. Use the "SONG BANK" button to access and play these songs.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Wipe the keyboard's surface with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, lightly dampen the cloth with water and a mild, neutral detergent, then wipe dry immediately. Avoid using alcohol, paint thinner, or other chemical solvents, as these can damage the finish.

5.2 Storage

When storing the keyboard, especially for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity. Do not place heavy objects on the keyboard.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Casio SA-46 keyboard, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Slide the POWER switch to "ON".
  • Insert fresh batteries or replace existing ones.
  • Ensure AC adaptor is securely connected and functioning.
Keys do not respond
  • Unit may be in a specific mode (e.g., demo mode).
  • Internal malfunction.
  • Try turning the power off and on again.
  • If the problem persists, contact customer support.
