1. Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for operating your Sony Alpha DSLR-A300 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera. 2. What's in the Box

Your Sony Alpha DSLR-A300 package typically includes the following items:

3. Setup

3.1. Attaching the Lens

  1. Remove the body cap from the camera and the rear lens cap from the lens.
  2. Align the red index mark on the lens with the red index mark on the camera's lens mount.
  3. Insert the lens into the camera mount and turn it clockwise until it clicks into place.

The DSLR-A300 uses Sony A-mount lenses. Ensure your lens is compatible.

3.2. Inserting the Battery

  1. Open the battery cover located on the bottom of the camera.
  2. Insert the rechargeable battery with the correct orientation, ensuring it clicks into place.
  3. Close the battery cover securely.

3.3. Inserting a Memory Card

  1. Open the memory card slot cover on the side of the camera.
  2. Insert a Memory Stick PRO Duo or CompactFlash card with the correct orientation until it clicks.
  3. Close the memory card slot cover.

3.4. Charging the Battery

  1. Insert the battery into the supplied battery charger.
  2. Plug the charger into a power outlet. The charging indicator will light up.
  3. Charging is complete when the indicator light turns off.

3.5. Attaching the Neck Strap

Thread the ends of the supplied neck strap through the strap lugs on the camera body and secure them as shown in the strap attachment diagram in the full user manual.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Powering On/Off

To turn the camera ON or OFF, slide the POWER switch located near the shutter button.

Rotate the Mode Dial on the top of the camera to select your desired shooting mode:
