1. Introduction

3. Setup

3.1. Attaching the Lens

1. Remove the body cap from the camera and the rear lens cap from the lens.
2. Align the red index mark on the lens with the red index mark on the camera's lens mount.
3. Insert the lens into the camera mount and turn it clockwise until it clicks into place.

The DSLR-A300 uses Sony A-mount lenses. Ensure your lens is compatible.

3.2. Inserting the Battery

1. Open the battery cover located on the bottom of the camera.

4.1. Powering On/Off

To turn the camera ON or OFF, slide the POWER switch located near the shutter button.

4.2. Selecting a Shooting Mode

Rotate the Mode Dial on the top of the camera to select your desired shooting mode:

• AUTO: Camera automatically sets optimal settings for most situations.
• P (Program AE): Camera sets aperture and shutter speed, while you control other settings.
• A (Aperture Priority): You set the aperture, and the camera sets the shutter speed. Ideal for controlling depth of field.

The DSLR-A300 offers both autofocus (AF) and manual focus (MF).

• Autofocus: Set the AF/MF switch on the lens to AF. Press the shutter button halfway down to focus.
• Manual Focus: Set the AF/MF switch on the lens to MF. Rotate the focusing ring on the lens to adjust focus manually.

4.4. Adjusting ISO Sensitivity

Press the ISO button on the camera body and use the control dial to select the desired ISO sensitivity (e.g., ISO 100-3200). Higher ISO values are useful in low-light conditions but may introduce more noise.
