Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Insteon Smart Lamp Dimmer Plug-In Module, consider the following common solutions:
- Module Not Responding:
- Ensure the lamp connected to the module has its physical switch turned 'ON'.
- Verify the module is securely plugged into a live wall outlet.
- Check if your Insteon Hub is powered on and connected to the network.
- Flickering with LED Bulbs:
- While compatible with most dimmable LED bulbs, dimming ranges can vary. If flickering occurs, try a different brand or type of dimmable LED bulb.
- Flickering may also occur at very low dimming levels or during slow network connections if the hub is querying the lights.
- Difficulty Pairing/Linking:
- Ensure you are following the pairing instructions precisely, including pressing and holding the 'SET' button until the module beeps.
- If linking to multiple motion sensors or other devices, ensure consistent behavior. If issues persist, try pairing with one device first to confirm functionality.
- A factory reset of the module may resolve persistent pairing issues. Refer to the Insteon app or Insteon support documentation for factory reset procedures.
- No Remote Control via App/Voice:
- Confirm that your Insteon Hub (2245-222) is properly set up and connected to your home network.
- Ensure you have Insteon Home Connected Access if using voice control with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
- If you lose internet connection, access to the hub via the app may be lost, even on local Wi-Fi, depending on your hub model.
