Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper use and maintenance of your My Weigh Triton T2 Digital Pocket Scale. Designed for precision and durability, this scale offers accurate measurements for various applications. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the device.
Safety Precautions and Usage Guidelines
- Do Not Exceed Capacity: Never exceed the maximum capacity of 120 grams for the Triton T2 scale at any time. Overloading can damage the weighing mechanism.
- Stable Surface: Always place the scale on a flat, stable surface. Ensure the scale is not exposed to vibrations, air currents, extreme temperatures, or dust, as these can affect accuracy.
- Acclimation: When turning the scale on, allow it to self-test and acclimate. The display will typically show '0.0' when ready.
- Expansion Tray: The protective cover is removable when fully open and can be used as an expansion tray for weighing larger items.
- Stable Readings: The display may show slight fluctuations due to the extreme sensitivity of the scale. The correct reading is achieved when the readout becomes stable.
Setup
Battery Installation
The My Weigh Triton T2 scale requires 2 AAA batteries, which are included. To install or replace batteries, locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale, open the cover, insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators, and close the compartment securely.
Initial Placement
Place the scale on a firm, level, and stable surface, away from drafts, vibrations, and extreme temperature changes. This ensures optimal performance and accuracy.
Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
- To turn the scale ON, press the ON/OFF button (red button). The display will show '88888' then '0.0' or '0.00'.
- To turn the scale OFF, press and hold the ON/OFF button until the display turns off.
Weighing Procedure
- Turn the scale on and wait for it to stabilize at '0.0'.
- Gently place the item to be weighed onto the center of the weighing platform.
- Read the stable weight displayed on the LCD screen.
Unit Conversion
The Triton T2 scale can display weight in multiple units. To change the weighing unit:
- With the scale on, press the UNIT button repeatedly to cycle through available units: Grams (g), Ounces (oz), Troy Ounces (ozt), and Pennyweight (dwt).
- The selected unit will be indicated on the display.
Tare Function
The Tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container, so you only measure the contents.
- Place an empty container on the weighing platform.
- Press the TARE button (often labeled '-0-' or 'T'). The display will reset to '0.0'.
- Add the items to be weighed into the container. The display will show only the net weight of the items.
Using the Expansion Tray
The scale's protective cover can be detached and inverted to serve as an expansion tray, providing a larger surface for weighing items. Simply open the cover fully, detach it, and place it upside down on the weighing platform.
Calibration
Calibration ensures the accuracy of your scale. A 100g calibration weight (not included) is required for this procedure.
- Turn the scale OFF and place it on a flat, stable surface.
- Press and hold the UNIT button, then press and release the ON/OFF button. The display will show the required calibration weight (e.g., '120.0g').
- Press the UNIT button again. The display will read 'CAL' and then '0.0'.
- Gently place the specified calibration weight (e.g., 100g or 120g, depending on the scale's prompt) onto the center of the weighing platform and wait for approximately 3 seconds.
- Press the UNIT button. The display should show 'PASS' and then return to '0.0'. Calibration is now complete. Remove the weight.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the scale with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water.
- Storage: Store the scale in a dry, cool place. Avoid storing it in areas with high humidity or extreme temperatures.
- Battery Care: Remove batteries if the scale will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
Troubleshooting
- Unstable Readings: If readings are unstable, ensure the scale is on a flat, stable surface, away from drafts, vibrations, and electronic devices that may cause interference. Recalibration may also be necessary.
- Display Errors: If the display shows 'EEEE' or 'O-Ld', the scale is overloaded. Remove the weight immediately. If 'Lo' appears, batteries are low and need replacement.
