Operating
Controls Overview
Refer to Figure 2 for the location of the following controls:
- INPUT LEVEL: This knob controls the overall volume of the audio signal entering the speaker. Start with this control at its minimum setting.
- POWER SWITCH: Turns the speaker on or off.
- POWER LED: Illuminates when the speaker is powered on.
- CLIP LED: Illuminates when the input signal is too high, indicating potential distortion. Reduce the input level if this LED lights up frequently.
Basic Operation
- Ensure all audio connections are made and the INPUT LEVEL knob is set to minimum.
- Connect the power cable and flip the POWER SWITCH to the 'ON' position. The POWER LED should illuminate.
- Start playing audio from your source.
- Slowly increase the INPUT LEVEL knob on the speaker until the desired volume is reached. Monitor the CLIP LED; if it flashes frequently, reduce the input level to prevent distortion.
- To power off, turn the INPUT LEVEL knob to minimum, then flip the POWER SWITCH to 'OFF'.
Maintenance
Cleaning
To maintain the appearance and performance of your speaker:
- Always disconnect the power cable before cleaning.
- Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to wipe down the exterior surfaces.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes, as these can damage the finish.
- Avoid spraying liquids directly onto the speaker.
Storage
When not in use for extended periods, store the speaker in a cool, dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If possible, use the original packaging for protection.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your B215D-WH speaker, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- No Power:
- Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the speaker and a working electrical outlet.
- Check if the power outlet is active by plugging in another device.
- Verify the POWER SWITCH is in the 'ON' position.
- No Sound:
- Check all audio cable connections (XLR input) from your source to the speaker.
- Ensure the INPUT LEVEL knob on the speaker is turned up.
- Verify that your audio source (mixer, instrument) is producing sound and its output level is sufficient.
- If using the LINK OUTPUT, ensure the connected speaker is also powered and functioning.
- Distorted Sound:
- Reduce the INPUT LEVEL on the speaker. If the CLIP LED is frequently flashing, the input signal is too strong.
- Check the output level of your audio source; it might be too high.
- Ensure all cables are in good condition and properly connected.
