When the service disconnecting means cannot be locked, securely fasten a prominent warning device, such as a tag, to the service panel.
  5. Do not use this fan with any solid-state speed control device.
  6. This fan is not intended for use in kitchen range hoods.
  7. This fan is designed for general ventilating use only. Do not use to exhaust hazardous or explosive materials and vapors.

4.1 Mounting Location

This duct-free fan can be installed in either a ceiling or wall. Choose a location that is free from obstructions and provides adequate space for the unit's dimensions.

4.3 General Installation Steps

  2. Mount the Housing: The fan features a fast snap-in metal housing. Secure the housing assembly to the framing using appropriate fasteners.
  3. Electrical Wiring: Connect the electrical wiring to the fan unit in accordance with local electrical codes. Ensure power is OFF at the circuit breaker before making any connections.
  4. Install Motor Assembly: The motor assembly is plug-in and removable. Insert the motor assembly into the housing.
  5. Insert Charcoal Filter: Place the activated charcoal filter into its designated slot within the unit.
  6. Attach Grille: Secure the white polymeric grille to the fan housing. The grille is paintable to match your decor.

5. Operating Instructions

The Broan-NuTone 682NT fan operates via a standard wall switch connected during installation. Once installed and wired, simply flip the wall switch to turn the fan ON or OFF.
