1. Overview
The Dorcy 4AA – 9 LED Lantern is a compact and durable handheld flashlight designed for general use and emergency situations. 2. Setup
2.1 Battery Installation
To prepare your Dorcy 4AA – 9 LED Lantern for use, follow these steps for battery installation:
- Unscrew the front bezel of the flashlight by turning it counter-clockwise. This will expose the battery compartment.
- Insert four (4) AA alkaline batteries into the designated slots. Observe the polarity markings (+/-) inside the compartment to ensure correct insertion. The negative end of the battery typically goes against the spring.
- Once batteries are inserted, carefully screw the front bezel back onto the flashlight by turning it clockwise until it is securely tightened. Ensure the O-ring seal is properly seated for water resistance.

3. Operation
3.1 Turning On/Off
To operate your Dorcy 4AA – 9 LED Lantern, use the push-button switch located on the handle:
- Press the button once to turn the flashlight ON.
- Press the button again to turn the flashlight OFF.
The flashlight provides a focused beam of 50 lumens, suitable for illuminating objects at a distance.

4. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your flashlight.
4.1 Battery Replacement
Replace all four AA batteries when the light output diminishes. Refer to the 'Setup' section for battery installation instructions.
4.2 Cleaning
Wipe the exterior of the flashlight with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Keep the lens clean for maximum light output.
4.3 Storage
