1. Product Overview
The Supco LCV LOGiT Data Logger is a precision instrument designed for recording AC current and AC voltage. It is utilized for monitoring power conditions, compressor and fan run cycles, and can be used in single-phase or three-phase applications (with three LCV units). The device samples AC current using a supplied clamp probe and stores data points for analysis.

2. Setup and Initial Configuration
2.1. Battery Installation
The LCV data logger requires one 9V battery for operation. Use either an alkaline or lithium battery. Lithium batteries offer extended battery life.
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the LCV unit.
- Open the compartment cover.
- Insert a new 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- Securely close the battery compartment cover.
2.2. Connecting the Clamp Probe
The supplied clamp probe is factory calibrated specifically for your LCV unit and is not interchangeable with other units. Connect the clamp probe to the designated input port on the LCV data logger.
2.3. Software Installation and Configuration
To configure the data logger, set sample rates, and retrieve data, dedicated software is required. Refer to the software's installation guide for detailed instructions. The software also allows for single-point offset calibration for current and voltage measurements.
3. Operation
3.1. Data Logging Modes
The LCV data logger can record AC current, AC voltage, or both simultaneously. The sample point capacity varies based on the selected mode:
- Current Only or Voltage Only: Up to 21,500 data points.
- Current and Voltage (Simultaneous): Up to 10,750 data points.
3.2. Setting Sample Rate
The sample rate can be configured via the software, ranging from 1 second to 18 hours. Select a sample rate appropriate for your monitoring duration and desired data granularity.
3.3. Alarm Configuration
The LCV features over and under alarms for both current and voltage. These alarms can be set through the software. A visual alarm indication is provided on the unit when an alarm threshold is exceeded.
3.4. Data Retrieval
After logging is complete, connect the LCV data logger to a computer using the appropriate cable (sold separately) and use the dedicated software to download and analyze the recorded data.
4. Maintenance
4.1. Battery Replacement
Replace the 9V battery when the low battery indicator appears or when the unit is not functioning correctly. Average battery life is approximately 20 months with an alkaline battery and 40 months with a lithium battery.
4.2. Cleaning
Wipe the exterior of the data logger with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the unit is dry before storage or operation.
4.3. Calibration
The current and voltage measurements are factory calibrated. A single-point offset calibration is available through the software for fine-tuning if necessary.
5. Troubleshooting
- Unit does not power on: Check battery installation and ensure the battery has sufficient charge. Replace the 9V battery if needed.
- No data recorded: Verify that the logger is properly configured via the software, the sample rate is set, and logging has been initiated. Ensure the clamp probe is correctly connected and clamped around the conductor.
- Incorrect readings: Confirm that the clamp probe is securely connected and that the correct measurement range is selected in the software. Remember that the clamp probe is factory calibrated to the specific unit and not interchangeable.
- Cannot connect to computer/retrieve data: Ensure the correct communication cable (often sold separately) is used and properly connected. Verify that the software is installed correctly and drivers are up to date.
