4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Filling the Pot
- Always ensure there is at least the minimum amount of liquid (indicated by the "min" mark inside the pot) for safe pressure build-up.
- Do not exceed the "max" mark (indicated inside the pot) to prevent overfilling and ensure safe operation.
- The pressure cooker is suitable for a wide variety of dishes. Prepare your ingredients according to your recipe.
4.2 Closing the Lid
- Align the metal tab marked "CLOSE" on the lid with the groove in the pot handle.
- Press the button on the handle and turn the lid until it clicks into place. The locking indicator will switch from red to green, confirming the pot is properly closed.
4.3 Cooking Settings
The Fissler Vitaquick offers different cooking settings:
- Setting 1 (Gentle Cooking): Ideal for delicate dishes like fish.
- Setting 2 (Quick Cooking): Suitable for delicate dishes such as vegetables.
- Setting 3 (Express Cooking): For all other dishes, including stews or meat.
- Steam Setting: For gentle steaming or cooking without pressure.
Adjust the cooking valve on the lid to select your desired setting. The cooking indicator will show the pressure rise:
- Yellow Ring: Your cooking temperature is almost reached. Reduce the heat on your stovetop.
- Green Ring: The cooking setting has been reached. Your cooking time starts now.
- Red Ring: The pressure in the pot is too high. Reduce the heat immediately. If not, the pot will automatically and safely regulate the pressure.
For pressure cookers with only two settings, Setting 1 is Gentle Cooking and Setting 2 is Express Cooking.
4.4 Releasing Pressure
After cooking, release the steam using one of the following methods:
- Option 1 (Gradual Release): Gradually turn the cooking valve towards the steam release position. Steam will escape. Continue until no more steam escapes and the cooking indicator has completely lowered.
- Option 2 (Quick Release): Press the control button lightly in the direction of the arrow on the handle to release the steam. Continue to press until the cooking indicator has completely lowered and no more steam escapes.
- Option 3 (Energy Saving Tip): Use the residual heat by removing the pressure cooker from the stovetop shortly before the end of cooking time. Then press the button to release any remaining steam.
Safety Note: Fissler pressure cookers only open when there is no more pressure inside the pot. Do not attempt to force the lid open.
5. Maintenance and Cleaning
- Dishwasher Safe: The pot is dishwasher safe. The lid and handle components should be hand-washed to preserve their integrity.
- Removable Handle: The handle is removable for easy and thorough cleaning.
- Gaskets and Valves: Regularly inspect the rubber gasket and valves for wear and tear. Replace them if necessary to maintain optimal performance and safety.
