4. Setup

4.1. Charging the Battery

1. Connect the charger to a standard electrical outlet.
2. Slide the 12V Max Lithium-Ion battery into the charger until it clicks into place.
3. The charger's indicator light will show the charging status. A full charge typically takes 30 minutes.
4. Once fully charged, remove the battery from the charger.

4.2. Installing/Removing the Battery

1. To install: Align the battery with the base of the driver and slide it in until it clicks securely.
2. To remove: Press the release tabs on the sides of the battery and slide it out.

4.3. Inserting/Removing Bits

The PS21-2A features a 1/4 inch quick-change hex chuck.

1. To insert: Push the hex bit directly into the chuck until it locks.
2. To remove: Pull the chuck collar forward and pull the bit out.

5.1. Variable Speed Trigger

The tool features a variable-speed trigger. The speed of the tool increases as you press the trigger further. This allows for precise control over drilling and driving applications.

5.2. Speed Settings

The PS21-2A has two mechanical speed settings, selected via a switch on top of the tool:

• Speed 1 (Low): 0-350 RPM. Provides higher torque for driving screws and drilling in tougher materials.
• Speed 2 (High): 0-1,300 RPM. Provides faster speed for lighter drilling and quick fastening.

5.3. Torque Settings (Clutch)

The adjustable clutch allows you to set the torque for specific applications, preventing over-driving screws or damaging materials. It offers 20+1 settings:

• Settings 1-20: For driving screws. Lower numbers provide less torque, higher numbers provide more.
• Drill Mode (Drill Bit Symbol): Bypasses the clutch for maximum torque, ideal for drilling.

5.4. Forward/Reverse Button

A slide switch located above the trigger controls the direction of rotation:

• Push left: Forward rotation (for driving screws).
• Push right: Reverse rotation (for removing screws).
