4. Installation and Wiring

The RTS151KEY is designed for surface mounting. Ensure the mounting location is easily accessible for testing and resetting, and is within the specified wiring distance from the associated duct smoke detector.

4.1 Mounting

  • After wiring, attach the front cover of the RTS151KEY to the mounted backplate.

5. Operating Instructions

The RTS151KEY provides remote testing and resetting capabilities for compatible duct smoke detectors.

5.1 Testing the Duct Smoke Detector

  1. Insert the key into the keyhole on the RTS151KEY.
  2. Turn the key to the TEST position. This will activate the test function of the connected duct smoke detector.
  3. Observe the alarm indicator on the RTS151KEY (if present) and/or the main fire alarm control panel for confirmation of the alarm.
  4. Once the test is complete, return the key to the center (normal) position and remove it.

5.2 Resetting the Duct Smoke Detector
