Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Eltako FSR61-230V Wireless Actuator Impulse Switching Relay. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use to ensure safe and efficient operation.
The Eltako FSR61-230V is a wireless actuator impulse switching relay designed for integration into electrical installations. It features a potential-free normally open contact (10A/250V AC) and supports incandescent lamps up to 2000 Watts. Key features include switch-off pre-warning, push-button continuous light function, encrypted wireless communication, bidirectional wireless capability, and an optional repeater function. It has a low standby loss of only 0.8 Watts and is designed for flush mounting.
Safety Information
WARNING: Installation and electrical work must only be carried out by a qualified electrician. Disconnect power before installation or maintenance.
- Ensure the power supply is disconnected before performing any work on the device.
- Observe all local and national electrical codes and regulations.
- Do not expose the device to moisture or extreme temperatures.
- A glow lamp current is not permitted with this device.
Product Overview
The Eltako FSR61-230V is a compact device designed for flush mounting. It features terminals for electrical connections and rotary switches for configuration.

Figure 1: Eltako FSR61-230V Wireless Actuator Impulse Switching Relay. This image shows the blue housing of the relay with its various markings and connection terminals. Visible elements include the Eltako logo, model number FSR61-230V, L-N 230V~ power input, 10A/250V~ contact rating, and terminals labeled 1, 2, L, N, and E'. Two rotary switches are present for configuration, labeled LRN/CLR and ESV/ER with time settings (2-120 minutes for ESV, 2-120 seconds for ER).
Key Components:
- Terminals (1, 2, L, N, E'): For connecting power supply and load.
- Rotary Switch (Top): Used for learning (LRN) wireless transmitters and selecting functions (ER, ESV, ESV with continuous light, ESV with pre-warning, ESV with both).
- Rotary Switch (Bottom): Used for setting the fallback delay time (t) in minutes for ESV mode or seconds for ER mode.
- LED Indicator: Guides the learning process and indicates wireless control commands.
Setup and Installation
The FSR61-230V is designed for flush mounting. Ensure adequate space and ventilation for proper operation.
Wiring Diagram:
Connect the device according to the following:
- L: Live (Phase) input 230V AC
- N: Neutral input
- 1: Switched output (potential-free contact)
- 2: Common for switched output (potential-free contact)
- E': Local control input (for conventional push-button)
After installation, allow for a brief automatic synchronization before connecting the switched load to the mains.
Operating Instructions
Learning Wireless Transmitters:
- Set the top rotary switch to LRN.
- The LED will indicate the learning mode.
- Activate the wireless transmitter (e.g., press a button on a wireless switch) you wish to pair.
- The LED will confirm successful learning. Up to 35 wireless pushbuttons can be assigned.
- After learning, set the top rotary switch to the desired function (ER, ESV, etc.).
Function Selection (Top Rotary Switch):
- ER (Switching Relay): Functions as a standard switching relay.
- ESV (Impulse Switch): Functions as an impulse switch.
- ESV + Taster-Dauerlicht (Continuous Light): Impulse switch with continuous light function. Pressing for longer than 1 second activates continuous light, which automatically switches off after 2 hours or can be manually switched off.
- ESV + Ausschaltvorwarnung (Switch-off Pre-warning): Impulse switch with pre-warning. The lighting flickers approximately 30 seconds before the time expires, 3 times in shortening intervals.
- ESV + Taster-Dauerlicht + Ausschaltvorwarnung: Impulse switch with both continuous light and pre-warning. Pre-warning occurs after automatic continuous light switch-off.
Time Setting (Bottom Rotary Switch):
- In ESV function, this sets the fallback delay from 2 to 120 minutes.
- In ER function, settings other than "infinity" enable a safety and power-saving function: if the switch-off command is not recognized (e.g., due to a stuck button), the relay automatically switches off after a set time (2 to 120 seconds). This time function is disabled if a wireless window/door contact (FTK) is learned.
- Setting to "infinity" (unendlich) provides normal impulse switch function (ES) without fallback delay, without continuous light, or without pre-warning.
Bidirectional Wireless and Repeater Function:
From manufacturing week 11/14 onwards, encrypted sensors can be learned. Bidirectional wireless and/or a repeater function can be activated. Each status change and received central control telegram is confirmed with a wireless telegram, which can be learned into other actuators, GFVS software, and universal displays.
Scene Control:
Using one of the four control signals from a double-rocker pushbutton learned as a scene button, multiple FSR61 units can be switched on or off as part of a scene.
Maintenance
The Eltako FSR61-230V is designed for long-term, maintenance-free operation. No regular maintenance is required under normal operating conditions.
- Keep the device free from dust and debris.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Periodically check electrical connections for tightness, especially after initial installation.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device does not respond to wireless commands. |
|
|
| Load does not switch on/off. |
|
|
| Automatic switch-off occurs too quickly/slowly. | Incorrect time setting. | Adjust the bottom rotary switch to the desired time setting (minutes for ESV, seconds for ER). |
| LED does not light up during learning. | Device not in LRN mode or power issue. | Ensure the top rotary switch is firmly set to LRN. Check power supply. |
