2. Safety Instructions

3.1. Device Components
- LCD Display: Shows temperature readings, units, and function indicators.

4. Setup
4.1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
- Slide the cover downwards to open the compartment.
- Insert a 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it back into place until it clicks securely.

4.2. Connecting the Thermocouple
Connect a Type K thermocouple probe to the input jack located at the top of the device. Ensure the probe is securely inserted.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Powering On/Off
- To turn on the thermometer, press the Power (O) button.
- To turn off the thermometer, press and hold the Power (O) button for approximately 2 seconds.
5.2. Basic Temperature Measurement
- Ensure a Type K thermocouple is connected.
- Turn on the device.
- Place the thermocouple probe at the point where temperature measurement is required.
- The current temperature will be displayed on the LCD screen. Allow a few seconds for the reading to stabilize.
5.3. Changing Temperature Units (°C/°F)
Press the °C/°F button to toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature units.
5.4. MAX/MIN Function
This function allows you to view the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded since the device was powered on or the function was reset.
- Press the MAX MIN button once to display the maximum temperature recorded. The 'MAX' indicator will appear on the screen.
- Press the MAX MIN button again to display the minimum temperature recorded. The 'MIN' indicator will appear.
- Press the MAX MIN button a third time to return to the current temperature display.
- To reset the MAX/MIN values, press and hold the MAX MIN button for approximately 2 seconds while in MAX or MIN mode.
5.5. HOLD Function
The HOLD function freezes the current temperature reading on the display.
- Press the HOLD button to freeze the current reading. The 'HOLD' indicator will appear on the screen.
- Press the HOLD button again to release the reading and return to live measurement.
5.6. Relative Measurement (ΔREL)
This function allows you to measure temperature differences relative to a reference point.
- With the thermometer displaying a stable temperature, press the ΔREL button. The current reading will be stored as the reference value, and the display will show '0.0' with the 'ΔREL' indicator.
- Subsequent measurements will display the difference between the current temperature and the stored reference value.
- Press the ΔREL button again to exit relative measurement mode and return to normal temperature display.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Cleaning
Wipe the device casing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure no liquid enters the device.
6.2. Battery Replacement
When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the 9V battery as described in Section 4.1. Remove the battery if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
6.3. Storage
Store the thermometer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Protect it from dust and moisture.
