5. Installation
Important: Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician and comply with all applicable electrical codes. Ensure power is disconnected before proceeding.
- Mounting: Securely mount the time switch enclosure to a wall or suitable surface using appropriate fasteners. Ensure the location is protected from moisture if not rated for outdoor exposure.
- Voltage Selection: Open the front cover. Locate the voltage selector switch inside the unit. Before connecting power, set the selector to the correct voltage (120V, 208V, 240V, or 277V) matching your electrical system. Refer to Figure 3 for the location of the voltage selector.
- Wiring:
- Route power supply wires into the enclosure through designated knockouts.
- Connect the Line (L1, L2 if applicable) and Load wires to the appropriate terminals as indicated on the wiring diagram (Figure 4).
- Ensure all connections are tight and secure. Use 10-16 gauge copper conductors.
- Refer to the specific wiring diagram in Figure 4 that matches your application (e.g., 120 VAC SPST, 240 VAC DPST).
- Battery Installation/Check: The unit typically comes with AAA batteries pre-installed. Verify they are correctly seated. These batteries maintain programming during power outages.
- Close Cover: Once wiring is complete and verified, close and secure the front cover.
- Restore Power: Restore power at the circuit breaker. The unit should power on.
