Setup (Installation)
WARNING: TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK, OR DEATH, TURN OFF POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER AND TEST THAT POWER IS OFF BEFORE WIRING.
- Remove the existing wall plate and disconnect the light switch.
- Ensure both the "hot" and neutral wires are present in the junction box.
- Connect the red timer wire to the wire from the fixture using a wire connector. Connect the black timer wire to the "hot" (usually black or red) wire in the junction box using a wire connector. Connect the white timer wire to the neutral wire in the junction box (usually white). Connect the green timer wire to the ground wire (usually green or bare copper).
- If the wall switch being replaced had separate grounding conductors connected to the GREEN screw, ensure these are connected to the green wire from the timer with a wire connector.
- Verify all wire connections are secure.
- Carefully place all wires inside the junction box. Fit the timer into the junction box and secure it using the mounting screws.
- Reconnect the electrical power at the circuit breaker.
Operation
The EI200 series timers provide silent operation with various time ranges and a continuous hold function.
Timer Mode
To activate the timer mode, press and release the push button (for less than 2 seconds) repeatedly until the desired time setting (5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes) is indicated by the illuminated LED. The connected load will automatically turn OFF once the selected countdown period is complete.
Hold Mode (Continuous Operation)
To engage the continuous operation (HOLD) mode, press and hold the push button for more than 2 seconds. The timer will enter HOLD mode, and the connected load will remain ON indefinitely. To exit HOLD mode, press and release the push button. The timer will then revert to the 5-minute countdown setting, and the connected load will turn OFF after 5 minutes.
Maintenance
The Intermatic EI200 timer is designed for long-term, maintenance-free operation. For cleaning, gently wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the finish or internal components.
