2. Safety Information
WARNING: RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK
- For proper installation, bonding between conduit connections is not automatic and must be provided as part of the installation.
- For outdoor locations or wet locations (rain-tight), conduit hubs must comply with requirements of the UL514B standard for fitting conduit and outlet boxes and are to be used.
- This enclosure does not provide grounding between conduit connections. When metallic conduit is used, you must also install grounding type bushings and jumper wire.
- Before performing any work on the timer switch, lock it in the OFF position and tag it to prevent unexpected application of power.
- Make sure there is no wire insulation under the terminal plate on the time switch connector. Firmly tighten terminal screws.
- Replace plastic insulator covering terminals before powering ON.
- KEEP DOOR CLOSED AT ALL TIMES when not servicing.
Always consult a qualified electrician for installation to ensure compliance with local electrical codes and safety standards.
3. Setup and Installation
Installation of the ET8015C timer should be performed by a qualified professional. Refer to the wiring diagram provided on the inside of the timer's enclosure for specific connections. The timer supports direct control of loads up to 30 amps resistive or inductive and tungsten loads up to the switch rating shown above.
3.1. Wiring Connections
Ensure power is disconnected before beginning any wiring. The timer features terminals for Neutral, Line 1, Line 2, Load 1, Load 2, and Load 3 (if applicable for multi-circuit models). For the 1-Circuit/30-Amp model (ET8015C), connect the incoming power lines and outgoing load lines according to the diagram on the unit.
