Setup Guide
1. Connecting to Your Television
Choose one of the following connection methods based on your television's available inputs:
- Component Video Connection (Recommended for Progressive Scan):
- Connect the Green, Blue, and Red RCA cables from the "COMPONENT VIDEO OUT" jacks on the DVD player to the corresponding "COMPONENT IN" jacks on your television.
- For audio, connect the Red and White RCA cables from the "AUDIO OUT" jacks on the DVD player to the "AUDIO IN" jacks on your television or audio receiver.
- Composite Video Connection (Standard Definition):
- Connect the Yellow RCA cable from the "VIDEO OUT" jack on the DVD player to the "VIDEO IN" jack on your television.
- For audio, connect the Red and White RCA cables from the "AUDIO OUT" jacks on the DVD player to the "AUDIO IN" jacks on your television or audio receiver.
- Digital Audio Connection (Optional):
- If your audio receiver has a digital coaxial input, connect a coaxial digital audio cable (not included) from the "DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (Coaxial)" jack on the DVD player to the corresponding input on your receiver for multi-channel audio (Dolby Digital, DTS).
2. Power Connection
Plug the power cord from the DVD player into a standard electrical outlet.
3. Initial Power On
Press the Power button on the front panel or the remote control to turn on the DVD player. Select the correct input source on your television (e.g., "Video 1", "Component", "AV") to view the DVD player's output.
Operating Instructions
Basic Disc Playback
- Turn on your television and the DVD player. Select the correct input source on your TV.
- Press the Open/Close button on the front panel or remote control to open the disc tray.
- Place a compatible disc (DVD, CD, etc.) gently onto the disc tray with the label side facing up.
- Press the Open/Close button again to close the disc tray. The player will begin reading the disc.
- Playback should start automatically. If a disc menu appears, use the navigation buttons on the remote to select your desired option and press Enter.
- Use the Play/Pause, Stop, and Skip buttons on the remote or front panel to control playback.

The Dynex DX-DVD2 supports a variety of disc formats, including:
