Intermatic RC613

Intermatic RC613 Receiver Instruction Manual

1. Product Overview

The Intermatic RC613 Receiver is a component of a two-part remote control system designed for switching electrical loads. It functions as an ordinary ON/OFF switch but also responds to signals from a handheld transmitter (sold separately). This module is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, managing various switching tasks around residential or agricultural settings. Users can activate or deactivate connected loads (such as lights or pumps) remotely using the transmitter or directly via the ON/OFF button on the receiver itself. A single transmitter can control up to three receivers, and each receiver can be programmed with a unique code.

The RC613 model includes a manual ON/OFF button and is intended for installation at the load's location. The RC613L model is identical but features extra-long (36-inch) leads.

Figure 1: Intermatic RC613 Receiver. This image shows the receiver unit with its ON/OFF button and wiring connections.

  1. Mounting the Receiver: Attach the receiver module to the top of an outdoor-grade junction box. Ensure the entire assembly is raintight.
  2. Selecting Location: Choose an appropriate location for installation, considering the "Important Considerations" section above. Install the receiver assembly on a vertical surface or other suitable support using appropriate hardware.
  3. Conduit and Wiring: Prepare necessary conduit runs as required by your installation layout and pull in the specified conductors.
  4. Wire Connections: Follow the wiring diagram provided with your product. Typically, the White lead connects to the 120V Neutral, the Black lead connects to the 120V Line, and the Red lead connects to the Load. Always verify wire functions with a multimeter if unsure, as wire colors may vary in existing installations.
  5. Testing and Securing: Turn on power and test the installation using the ON/OFF button on the receiver module. After successful testing, replace the junction box cover, ensuring the installation is secure and raintight.
  6. Transmitter Linking: Refer to the "Operation" section for instructions on linking a transmitter button with the receiver.
