1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the assembly, operation, and maintenance of your Smart Solar Glossy Ceramic 4-Tiered Cascade Solar Fountain. This solar-powered fountain is designed to create a relaxing atmosphere in your outdoor space, featuring a unique bamboo design with four tiers of ceramic pots.

2. Important Safety Information

  • Water Safety: Always ensure the pump is fully submerged in water before operation to prevent damage.
  • Electrical Safety: The solar panel and pump are low-voltage. Do not attempt to modify the electrical components.
  • Freezing Temperatures: IMPORTANT WARNING: Frost and freezing temperatures will cause damage to the fountain. Before temperatures fall below 39°F / 4°C, empty all water from the fountain and store the entire unit indoors in a cool, dry location such as a shed or garage during the winter season.
  • Placement: Place the fountain on a stable, level surface to prevent tipping.

Please check to ensure all components are present and undamaged:

  • 4-Tiered Ceramic Fountain Unit (Pots and Stand)
  • Solar Panel with 10-foot Cable
  • Low-Voltage Water Pump
  • Water Filter
  • Instruction Manual

4. Assembly and Setup

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging.
  2. Assemble Fountain Structure: Place the ceramic pots onto the sturdy steel frame, ensuring they are stable and correctly aligned for water flow.
  3. Connect Pump: Attach the low-voltage water pump to the tubing that leads to the top ceramic pot. Ensure the connection is secure.
  4. Position Solar Panel: Place the solar panel in an area that receives full, direct sunlight throughout the day. The 10-foot cable allows flexibility to position the fountain in a shaded area while the panel remains in the sun.
  5. Fill with Water: Fill the main basin of the fountain with clean water. Ensure the pump is fully submerged. The fountain has a water capacity of approximately 2 gallons.
  6. Connect Solar Panel to Pump: Connect the solar panel cable to the water pump. The fountain will begin to operate once sufficient sunlight is received by the solar panel.

5. Operation

The Smart Solar fountain operates exclusively on solar power and requires direct sunlight to function. The pump will activate when the solar panel receives sufficient light and will stop when light levels are low (e.g., at night or during heavy cloud cover).

  • Direct Sunlight: Full direct sun provides maximum water flow and performance.
  • Partial Sun: Partial sunlight will result in reduced water flow.
  • Cloudy Conditions: Mostly cloudy conditions will provide minimal to no water flow. The fountain will not run at night.

6. Maintenance

  • Water Level: Regularly check the water level and refill as needed to ensure the pump remains fully submerged. Evaporation can occur, especially in warm weather.
  • Cleaning: Clean the fountain and pump periodically to prevent algae buildup and blockages. A soft brush and mild soap can be used for ceramic surfaces. Ensure all soap residue is rinsed thoroughly.
  • Filter Cleaning: Clean the pump's filter regularly to maintain optimal water flow.
  • Winter Storage: As noted in the safety section, empty all water and store the entire fountain unit indoors in a cool, dry place during winter to prevent frost damage.
