3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking
Upon receiving your Canon LP-E8 Battery Pack, ensure the package contains the battery and any accompanying documentation. The battery may not be fully charged upon purchase.

3.2 Initial Charge
It is recommended to fully charge the battery pack before its first use to ensure optimal performance and battery life.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Charging the Battery
- Insert the LP-E8 battery pack into a compatible Canon battery charger.
- Connect the charger to a power source.
- The charging indicator on the charger will illuminate, typically orange or amber, to indicate charging is in progress.
- Charging a completely exhausted battery takes approximately 2 hours at 23°C (73°F).
- Charging at lower temperatures (between 6°C to 10°C / 43°F to 50°F) may take longer, up to 4 hours.
- The indicator will change or turn off when charging is complete.

4.2 Installing the Battery in the Camera
- Ensure the camera is turned off.
- Open the battery compartment cover on the bottom of your Canon EOS Rebel camera.
- Insert the LP-E8 battery pack into the compartment, aligning the contacts correctly. The battery should click into place.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
4.3 Removing the Battery from the Camera
- Ensure the camera is turned off.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Press the battery release lever (if present) to eject the battery.

5.1 Storage

- Even during storage, a charged battery will slowly drain. It is advisable to recharge the battery the day before or on the day it is to be used.

If the battery quickly drains even after being fully charged, it may have reached the end of its service life and should be replaced.
5.3 Cleaning
Keep the battery terminals clean. Use a dry cloth to wipe off any dirt or smudges on the terminals to ensure proper contact with the camera and charger.
6. Troubleshooting
- Battery not charging: Ensure the battery is correctly inserted into the charger and the charger is properly connected to a power source. Check for any debris on the battery or charger contacts.
- Battery draining quickly: The battery may be nearing the end of its lifespan. Consider replacing it with a new, genuine Canon LP-E8 battery pack. Ensure the battery is removed from the camera during prolonged periods of non-use.
- Camera not powering on: Verify the battery is fully charged and correctly inserted. If the issue persists, try a different fully charged battery.
