5.1. Inserting the Battery

  1. Open the battery compartment cover located on the bottom of the camera.
  2. Insert the battery with the contacts facing the correct direction, as indicated inside the compartment.
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely until it clicks into place.

5.2. Inserting a Memory Card

The E-PL1 uses SD/SDHC memory cards (not included).

  1. Open the memory card slot cover, usually located on the side or bottom of the camera.
  2. Insert the SD/SDHC card into the slot with the label facing the front of the camera until it clicks.
  3. Close the memory card slot cover securely.

The E-PL1 uses Micro Four Thirds interchangeable lenses.

  1. Remove the body cap from the camera and the rear cap from the lens.
  2. Align the mounting marks (usually a white dot) on the lens with the corresponding mark on the camera body.
  3. Insert the lens into the camera mount and rotate it clockwise until it locks into place with a click.

To turn the camera on or off, slide the power switch, typically located near the shutter button or mode dial.
