Package Contents
Verify that all components are present before beginning installation:
- Fixture body with pre-assembled wiring
- Crossbar
- Mounting screws
- Wire nuts
- Glass shades (pre-installed or separate)
- Candle sleeve (if applicable)
- Hex nuts
Setup and Installation
Before starting, ensure the power is turned off at the circuit breaker or fuse box to prevent electrical shock.
Mounting the Fixture
- Shut off the power at the circuit breaker and remove any old fixture, including the crossbar.
- Carefully unpack the new fixture and lay out all parts on a clean, clear surface. Take care not to lose any small parts necessary for installation.
- Attach the mounting screw part way into the side hole of the crossbar. Then, lock it securely with a hex nut until becoming tight. Attach the crossbar to the junction box using two box screws. The side of the crossbar marked "GND" must face out.
- Follow wiring instructions carefully (see 'Wiring' section below).
- Attach the back plate of the lamp body (A) onto the junction box, aligning the screws on the crossbar with the mounting holes and locking it securely with the ball nuts (C). Place the candle sleeve (B) over the lamp holder.
- Install the light bulbs in accordance with the fixture's specifications. DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM WATTAGE RATING!
- With silicone caulking compound, caulk completely around the back of the cover to prevent water from seeping into the outlet box.

Wiring
- Connect the electrical wires as follows: Connect the black wire from the fixture to the black (hot) wire from the house. Connect the white wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) wire from the house. Make sure all wire nuts are secured.
- You may wrap the connections with electrical tape. If your outlet box has a ground wire (green or bare copper), connect the fixture's ground wire to it. Otherwise, attach the bare copper fixture wire to the green ground screw on the crossbar.
- Tuck the wire connections neatly into the wall junction box.

Operating Instructions
Once installed, restore power at the circuit breaker. The Livex Lighting 2161-02 Outdoor Wall Lantern operates with a standard wall switch (not included). If connected to a compatible dimmer switch, the light output can be adjusted. This fixture is designed for incandescent bulbs and is dimmable with appropriate dimming controls.
Maintenance
Cleaning
To maintain the finish and appearance of your fixture, clean it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or polishes as they may damage the finish. For glass panels, use a mild glass cleaner applied to a cloth, not directly to the fixture.
Bulb Replacement
Always turn off the power at the circuit breaker before replacing bulbs. Allow bulbs to cool completely before touching them. Use only bulbs that meet the specified wattage and type (E26 base, up to 100 watts incandescent). Exceeding the maximum wattage can cause overheating and damage to the fixture.
Troubleshooting
- Light does not turn on:
- Check if the power is on at the circuit breaker.
- Ensure the bulb is securely screwed into the socket and is not burnt out.
- Verify all wire connections are secure and correctly made.
- Light flickers:
- Ensure the bulb is fully tightened.
- Check for loose wire connections.
- If using a dimmer, ensure it is compatible with incandescent bulbs and the bulb itself is dimmable.
- Glass panels are loose:
- Carefully inspect the fixture for any retaining clips or screws that may need tightening.
