1. Introduction

The Sony DSC-W370 is a 14.1-megapixel digital camera designed for ease of use and high-quality image capture. Featuring a 7x optical zoom lens with Optical SteadyShot image stabilization, it helps reduce blur and bring distant subjects closer. The camera includes a 3.0-inch LCD for clear viewing and offers various intelligent shooting modes, including Sweep Panorama and HD movie recording, to enhance your photography experience.

2. Initial Setup

2.1. Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the supplied lithium-ion battery. Insert the battery into the charger and connect the charger to a power outlet. The charging indicator will show the charging status.

2.2. Inserting the Battery and Memory Card

Open the battery/memory card cover located on the bottom of the camera. Insert the charged battery with the correct orientation, ensuring it clicks into place. Insert a compatible Memory Stick Duo/PRO Duo/PRO-HG Duo or SD/SDHC memory card into the slot until it locks. Close the cover securely.

2.3. Turning the Camera On/Off

Press the ON/OFF button to power on or power off the camera. The lens will extend when powered on.

4. Operating the Camera

4.1. Taking Photos

  1. Turn on the camera using the ON/OFF button.
  2. Select your desired shooting mode using the mode dial (e.g., iAuto for automatic settings).
  3. Frame your shot using the LCD screen.
  4. Press the shutter button halfway down to focus. The focus indicator will turn green when focus is achieved.
  5. Press the shutter button fully down to take the picture.

4.2. Recording Videos

  1. Turn on the camera.
  2. Press the dedicated MOVIE button to start recording.
  3. Press the MOVIE button again to stop recording.

4.3. Using Zoom

Use the zoom lever located around the shutter button to zoom in (T) or zoom out (W) on your subject.

4.4. Changing Shooting Modes

Rotate the mode dial to select different shooting modes such as Program Auto (P), Intelligent Auto (iAuto), Scene Selection (SCN), or Sweep Panorama.

4.5. Reviewing and Deleting Images/Videos

  1. Press the Playback button (usually indicated by a triangle icon).
  2. Use the control buttons to navigate through your photos and videos.
  3. To delete, select the image/video and press the Delete button (trash can icon), then confirm.

  • Cleaning the Lens: Use a soft, dry cloth or a lens brush to gently remove dust. For stubborn smudges, use a lens cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth.
  • Cleaning the LCD Screen: Wipe the screen gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid pressing too hard.

  • Memory Card Care: Handle memory cards carefully. Avoid bending or exposing them to static electricity. Format the card periodically within the camera to maintain optimal performance.

6. Troubleshooting
