Controls and Features
Familiarize yourself with the various controls and connections on your CD player:

- BATTERY COMPARTMENT: Located on the bottom of the unit, for inserting AA batteries.
- DC IN JACK: For connecting an optional DC power adapter (not included).

- OPEN BUTTON: Slides the CD compartment lid open.
Setup
Powering the Device
The GPX C3849 can be powered by two (2) AA batteries (not included) or an optional DC power adapter (not included).
Battery Installation:
- Locate the BATTERY COMPARTMENT on the bottom of the unit.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert two (2) AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Using a DC Power Adapter (Optional):
If using an optional DC power adapter, plug the adapter into the DC IN JACK on the unit and then into a standard wall outlet. Batteries will be bypassed when an adapter is connected.
Connecting Headphones
Plug the 3.5mm stereo jack of the included headphones into the HEADPHONE JACK on the side of the unit.
Operating Instructions
Loading a CD
- Press the OPEN BUTTON to open the CD compartment lid.
- Place a CD (audio CD, CD-R, CD-RW, or MP3 CD) onto the center spindle with the label side facing up.
- Gently press the CD down until it clicks into place.
- Close the CD compartment lid firmly until it latches. The LCD DISPLAY will show the total number of tracks.
Basic Playback
- Play/Pause: Press the PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON (►/−−) to start playback. Press again to pause.
- Stop: Press the STOP BUTTON (■) to stop playback.
- Skip Tracks: During playback, press the SKIP/SEARCH BUTTONS (◀◀ / ►►) briefly to skip to the previous or next track.
- Search: During playback, press and hold the SKIP/SEARCH BUTTONS (◀◀ / ►►) to fast-forward or rewind within the current track.
- Volume: Rotate the VOLUME CONTROL dial to adjust the listening level.
Playback Modes (Repeat and Random)
Press the MODE BUTTON repeatedly to cycle through available playback modes, which may include:
- Repeat One: Repeats the current track.
- Repeat All: Repeats all tracks on the disc.
- Random Play: Plays tracks in a random order.
Programming Tracks (24-Track Programming)
You can program up to 24 tracks to play in a specific order:
- With the CD stopped, press the PROGRAM BUTTON. The LCD DISPLAY will show 'P01' and the track number will flash.
- Use the SKIP/SEARCH BUTTONS (◀◀ / ►►) to select the first track you wish to program.
- Press the PROGRAM BUTTON again to confirm the selection. The display will advance to 'P02'.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 to add up to 24 tracks to your program.
- After programming all desired tracks, press the PLAY/PAUSE BUTTON (►/−−) to start playback of your programmed sequence.
- To clear the program, press the STOP BUTTON (■) twice.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Unit
- Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- To clean the CD lens, use a specialized CD lens cleaning kit. Do not touch the lens directly.
Battery Care
- Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
- Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.
