Setup
The VTech DS6101 is an accessory handset and requires a VTech DS6151 series phone system (sold separately) to function. It cannot operate independently.
The DS6101 handset requires a DS6151 series base unit for operation.
1. Unpacking and Initial Charge
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Install the included AAA battery into the handset, ensuring correct polarity. Place the handset in its charging cradle. Allow the handset to charge for at least 16 hours before initial use to ensure optimal battery performance.
2. Registering the Handset
To use the accessory handset, it must be registered to your DS6151 series base unit. Refer to your DS6151 series base unit's manual for specific registration instructions. Typically, this involves placing the handset in the base unit's cradle and pressing a registration button on the base unit for a few seconds until the handset displays a confirmation message.

The DS6151 series system can be expanded with up to 12 DS6101 accessory handsets for comprehensive home or office coverage.

Operating Instructions
Making and Answering Calls
To make a call, press the LINE 1 or LINE 2 button, then dial the number. To answer a call, simply lift the handset from the cradle or press any talk key.
Using the Speakerphone
During a call, press the SPEAKER button to activate the speakerphone. Press it again to switch back to the handset earpiece.
Caller ID
When a call comes in, the caller's information will display on the handset screen. You can review past calls by navigating through the Caller ID log using the arrow keys.
Intercom
To initiate an intercom call to another handset or the base unit, press the INT button and select the desired destination. This allows for private conversations within your phone system.
Conference Calls
