4. Setup and Installation
The Harvia Vega heater is designed for straightforward installation. However, due to the electrical nature of the product, professional electrical installation is strongly recommended.
4.1 Mounting the Heater
- Install the heater's mounting base securely on the sauna wall. Ensure the wall material can support the weight of the heater and stones.
- Place the heater onto its support.
- Secure the heater to the wall support with the provided screw(s).
- For optimal air circulation, ensure the heater is slightly elevated from the floor as per installation guidelines.
4.2 Electrical Connection
The heater requires a 400 V 3N or 240 V 1N power supply. All electrical connections must be performed by a certified electrician. Refer to the wiring diagram provided with the product for specific connection details. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
4.3 Stone Placement
Lava stones are not included with the heater and must be purchased separately. Use only genuine Harvia sauna stones. Proper stone placement is crucial for efficient heating and safety.

Figure 4.1: Top-down view of the Harvia Vega heater, showing the heating elements and the compartment for sauna stones. Stones should be placed around these elements.
- Arrange the stones loosely around the heating elements to allow air to circulate freely.
- Do not overload the heater with stones, as this can impede air flow and reduce heating efficiency, potentially leading to overheating.
- Ensure no heating elements are completely covered or obstructed by stones.
5. Operating Instructions
The Harvia Vega heater features an integrated control unit for easy operation.
5.1 Powering On and Temperature Adjustment
- Ensure the main power supply to the sauna heater is switched on.
- Use the temperature control dial on the side of the heater to set your desired sauna temperature.
- The heater will begin to heat up. For a typical two-person sauna, the heater can reach operating temperature in under an hour.
5.2 Timer Function
The integrated control unit also includes a timer function. You can set the heater to start at a later time, for example, to have the sauna ready after a few hours.
- Turn the timer dial to the desired pre-heating time or operating duration.
- Refer to the markings on the dial for specific time intervals.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Harvia Vega heater.
- Stone Inspection: Periodically inspect the sauna stones. Replace any cracked or crumbling stones to maintain heating efficiency and prevent damage to the elements.
- Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the heater with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Ventilation: Ensure that the sauna room's ventilation system is clear and unobstructed.
- Electrical Connections: Have a qualified electrician periodically check the electrical connections for tightness and wear.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Harvia Vega heater, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
