WARNING: Risk of Electric Shock. Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician and comply with all local and national electrical codes.

• Always disconnect power at the circuit breaker before installing or servicing the transformer.
• The transformer must be mounted at least 1 foot (0.3 meters) above ground level.
• Ensure proper grounding of the unit. A grounded shield between the primary and secondary windings provides an additional layer of safety.
• This transformer is suitable for direct connection to underwater lights and complies with NEC Code 680.23 requirements for underwater luminaries.
• Do not use with self-contained portable spas or hot tubs.
• The built-in circuit protection will temporarily disconnect power in case of an overload. If an overload occurs, remove the short or overload, and the unit will automatically reset after approximately 15 minutes. No user-serviceable parts are inside.

5.1 Mounting

5.2 Wiring

The enclosure features 12 combination knockouts for flexible conduit entry. Connect the 120V AC input power to the designated terminals. For the low-voltage output, select the appropriate voltage tap (12V, 13V, or 14V) based on your lighting requirements and cable run length. Ensure all connections are tight and properly insulated. The grounded shield provides safety between the primary and secondary windings.

6. Operating Instructions

Once properly installed and wired, the Intermatic PX600 transformer operates automatically. Apply power to the 120V input circuit. The transformer will then provide the selected low-voltage output to your connected pool/spa or landscape lights.

The PX600 offers multiple output voltage taps (12V, 13V, 14V). The appropriate tap should be selected during installation to compensate for voltage drop over long cable runs and to ensure optimal brightness for your specific lighting fixtures. 7. Maintenance

8.1 Lights Not Functioning

• Check Power Supply: Verify that the 120V AC input power is active at the circuit breaker.
• Internal Protector Trip: The transformer has a built-in circuit protector that will open if an overload or short circuit occurs. If this happens, the power will be temporarily disconnected.
• Identify and Correct Overload/Short: Disconnect all loads from the transformer. Inspect your low-voltage wiring and fixtures for any shorts or overloads. Correct any issues found.
• Automatic Reset: After correcting the fault, the internal protector will automatically reset after approximately 15 minutes, restoring power.
• Inspect Connections: Ensure all wiring connections are secure and free from corrosion.
