1. Product Overview

2. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials from the coffee maker.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the carafe and the removable filter basket with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly. It is recommended to run two full cycles of water through the coffee maker without coffee grounds to remove any manufacturing odors.
  3. Placement: Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable surface away from the edge of the counter. Ensure it is near an electrical outlet.
  4. Set Clock: Plug the coffee maker into a 110-volt AC electrical outlet. The digital display will flash. Press the HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set the current time. Hold the buttons down for rapid scrolling or press repeatedly for single increments.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Brewing Coffee

  1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the top lid and fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water using the carafe. The water window on the side indicates the water level. Do not exceed the 5-cup maximum fill line.
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place a paper filter (basket-style) into the removable filter basket. Add the desired amount of ground coffee. A general guideline is one tablespoon of coffee per cup, adjusted to personal preference.

  1. Close Lid: Close the top lid securely.
  2. Place Carafe: Ensure the empty carafe is placed correctly on the warming plate.
  3. Start Brewing: Press the BREW NOW button to begin the brewing cycle immediately. The ON indicator light will illuminate.
  4. Grab-A-Cup Feature: If you need a cup before the brewing cycle is complete, carefully remove the carafe. The flow of coffee will temporarily stop. Return the carafe to the warming plate within 20 seconds to prevent overflow.
  5. After Brewing: Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will keep the coffee warm for 1 hour before automatically shutting off.

3.2 Using Delay Brew

  1. Prepare Coffee Maker: Follow steps 1-4 from "3.1 Brewing Coffee".
  2. Set Delay Time: Press the SET DELAY button. The display will flash. Use the HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set the desired time for brewing to start.
  3. Activate Delay Brew: Press the SET DELAY button again to confirm the time. The DELAY BREW indicator light will illuminate, indicating the timer is set.
  4. Cancel Delay Brew: To cancel the delay brew, press the OFF button.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Always unplug the coffee maker before cleaning.
  • Wash the carafe and filter basket in warm, soapy water after each use. The carafe can also be cleaned with a dish wand for hard-to-reach areas.
  • Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the coffee maker in water or other liquids.

4.2 Descaling

Mineral deposits (calcium) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance. Descale your coffee maker regularly (e.g., monthly or every 40-80 uses, depending on water hardness).

  1. Fill the water reservoir with white vinegar up to the 5-cup mark.
  2. Place an empty paper filter in the filter basket and close the lid.
  3. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  4. Press the BREW NOW button and allow half of the vinegar solution to brew into the carafe.
  5. Press the OFF button and let the coffee maker soak for 30 minutes.
  6. Press the BREW NOW button again to brew the remaining vinegar solution.
  7. Once complete, discard the vinegar solution and rinse the carafe.
  8. Run 2-3 full cycles of fresh, cold water through the coffee maker to flush out any remaining vinegar taste or odor.

5. Troubleshooting
