2. Safety Information

The Beurer FT15/I thermometer consists of the following main components:

4. Setup and Initial Use
4.1. Battery Installation

- Insert a new 1.5V LR41 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Taking a Measurement
- Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the thermometer. A short beep will sound, and the display will show the last measured temperature for approximately 2 seconds.
- The symbol '°C' or '°F' will flash, indicating the thermometer is ready for measurement.
- Place the flexible measuring tip according to the desired measurement method (oral, axillary, or rectal).
- Hold the thermometer in place until an acoustic signal (series of beeps) indicates the measurement is complete. This typically takes approximately 10 seconds.
- Read the temperature displayed on the LCD screen.
- The thermometer will automatically switch off after approximately 10 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life. You can also manually turn it off by pressing the ON/OFF button.

5.2. Fever Indicator
The thermometer features a fever indicator. If the measured temperature is 37.8 °C (100.0 °F) or higher, the thermometer will emit a rapid series of beeps, indicating a potential fever.

5.3. Switching Between Celsius and Fahrenheit
To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F):
- With the thermometer turned off, press and hold the ON/OFF button for approximately 3 seconds.
- The display will show the current unit (°C or °F) and then switch to the other unit. Release the button.
- The selected unit will be saved for future measurements.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning
The Beurer FT15/I thermometer is waterproof and designed for easy cleaning and disinfection.
- After each use, clean the measuring tip with a cotton swab or cloth moistened with 70% isopropyl alcohol.
- You can also rinse the entire thermometer under running water.
- Do not boil the thermometer or clean it in a dishwasher.
