Resetting the Router

If you encounter persistent issues or forget your login credentials, you may need to reset the router to its factory default settings. This will erase all custom configurations.

  • Soft Reset: Log in to the web management page and go to System Tools > Reboot.
  • Hard Reset: With the router powered on, press and hold the WPS/Reset button on the back panel for about 10 seconds until all LEDs flash briefly. Release the button and wait for the router to restart.

Troubleshooting

Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:

  • Cannot access the internet: Check all cable connections. Verify your internet connection type in the router's settings. Contact your ISP if the modem light is off or blinking incorrectly.
  • Slow wireless speed: Ensure your devices support Wireless-N. Check for interference from other devices (e.g., cordless phones, microwaves). Adjust the wireless channel or channel width in the router settings. Utilize the router's CCA feature for automatic channel conflict avoidance.
  • Wireless signal drops frequently: Relocate the router to a central location, away from obstacles and interference sources. Ensure antennas are properly oriented. Update router firmware.
  • Forgot login password: Perform a hard reset of the router to restore factory default credentials.
  • USB storage not detected: Ensure the USB device is properly formatted (FAT32 or NTFS). Check the USB settings in the router's web interface.
