Setup and Installation
- Prepare Riser: Ensure you have a properly installed riser with a 1/2" Male Pipe Thread (MPT) connection at the desired location.
- Attach Spray Head: Carefully thread the 1/2" FPT connection of the A17-H spray head onto the riser. Hand-tighten first, then use a wrench for a snug fit, being careful not to overtighten.
- Positioning: Mount the spray head on the riser so that it is clear of obstructions and can provide the desired half-pattern coverage.
- Spacing: For optimal coverage, space multiple A17-H spray heads approximately 6 to 15 feet apart, depending on your specific irrigation needs and water pressure.

Operation
- Water Activation: Once installed, activate your irrigation system to supply water to the spray head.
- Adjusting Spray Distance: The A17-H features a screw on the top of the nozzle. Turn this screw clockwise to decrease the spray distance and counter-clockwise to increase it. Adjust until the desired coverage is achieved for your shrubbery.
- Pattern: The A17-H is designed to provide a fixed half-pattern spray. Ensure the spray head is oriented correctly to cover the intended area.
Maintenance
- Filter Screen Cleaning: Periodically inspect the filter screen located at the base of the spray head. If debris is present, carefully remove the spray head, clean the screen under running water, and re-install. This prevents clogging and maintains optimal spray performance.
- Nozzle Inspection: Check the nozzle for any blockages or damage. Clear any obstructions using a small brush or by flushing with water.
- Winterization: In freezing climates, ensure your irrigation system, including spray heads, is properly winterized to prevent damage from ice expansion. Consult your irrigation system's main manual for specific winterization procedures.
Troubleshooting
