Setup

1. Adjusting Eyecups

The eyecups can be adjusted to suit users with or without eyeglasses.

  • For users without eyeglasses: Rotate the eyecups counter-clockwise until they are fully extended.
  • For users with eyeglasses: Rotate the eyecups clockwise until they are fully retracted. This allows your eyes to be closer to the ocular lenses, providing a full field of view.

2. Adjusting Interpupillary Distance

The interpupillary distance (the distance between the centers of your pupils) varies among individuals. To adjust:

  • Hold the binoculars with both hands and look through them.
  • Bend the binocular body at the hinge until you see a single, clear circular field of view.

3. Diopter Adjustment

The diopter adjustment compensates for differences in vision between your left and right eyes.

  1. Close your right eye or cover the right objective lens.
  2. Look through the left eyepiece and rotate the central focus wheel until the image is sharp and clear.
  3. Close your left eye or cover the left objective lens.
  4. Look through the right eyepiece and rotate the diopter adjustment ring (usually on the right eyepiece) until the image is sharp and clear. Do not use the central focus wheel for this step.
  5. Your binoculars are now adjusted for your individual vision. You will only need to use the central focus wheel for subsequent focusing.

4. Tripod Mounting

For extended observation periods or to achieve maximum stability, your binoculars can be mounted on a tripod.

  • Locate the tripod adapter thread, usually found under a cap on the front hinge of the binoculars.
  • Remove the cap and screw a compatible tripod adapter (sold separately) into the thread.
  • Attach the tripod adapter to your photographic tripod.

Operating

1. Focusing

After completing the diopter adjustment, focusing on different objects is straightforward:

  • Look through the binoculars at your desired object.
  • Rotate the central focus wheel until the image appears sharp and clear in both eyes.

2. General Usage Tips

  • Steady Holding: For best results, hold the binoculars steady. You can brace your elbows against your body or use a tripod.
  • Low Light Conditions: The 42mm objective lenses and 10x magnification provide good light gathering capabilities, making these binoculars suitable for observation in low-light environments, such as dawn or dusk.
  • Field of View: With a field of view of 106 meters at 1000 meters, you can observe a wide area, which is beneficial for tracking moving subjects like birds.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning Lenses

The lenses have anti-reflective coatings that can be damaged by improper cleaning.

  • Dust Removal: Use a soft brush or compressed air to gently remove any dust or loose particles from the lens surfaces.
  • Smudges/Fingerprints: Apply a small amount of lens cleaning fluid to a clean, soft microfiber cloth. Gently wipe the lens surface in a circular motion. Avoid excessive pressure.
  • Do not use abrasive cloths, paper towels, or household cleaners, as these can scratch the lenses or damage the coatings.

2. Body Cleaning

The binocular body is made of rubber. Wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals.

3. Storage

  • Store your binoculars in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Use the provided case or a protective bag to prevent dust accumulation and physical damage.
  • Ensure lens caps are in place when not in use.

4. Waterproof and Nitrogen-Filled

These binoculars are waterproof and nitrogen-filled, which prevents internal fogging of the lenses due to temperature changes. While they are designed to withstand water exposure, avoid prolonged submersion. If they get wet, wipe them dry with a soft cloth.
