Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Intermatic ET1105C 24-Hour Electronic Time Switch. This device is designed to control electrical loads with precise, programmable timing, offering an upgrade from mechanical time switches with features like up-to-the-minute programming, battery backup, and automatic daylight saving time corrections.
Important Safety Information
WARNING: Risk of Fire or Electric Shock
- For plastic enclosures, bonding between conduit connections is not automatic and must be provided as part of the installation.
- If the power disconnect point is out of sight, lock it in the OFF position and tag it to prevent unexpected application of power.
- Ensure there is no wire insulation under the terminal plate on the time switch connector. Firmly tighten terminal screws.
- Replace plastic insulator covering terminals before powering ON.
- KEEP DOOR CLOSED AT ALL TIMES when not servicing.
AVERTISSEMENT: Risque d'incendie ou de choc électrique
Pour les boîtiers en plastique, la liaison entre les raccordements de conduits n'est pas automatique et doit être prévue dans le cadre de l'installation.

Installation
Voltage Selection
The ET1105C supports multi-volt operation from 120 to 277 VAC, 50/60 Hz. Refer to the internal instruction manual or wiring diagram for specific voltage selection procedures.
Wiring
Wiring should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with all local and national electrical codes.
- Ensure all power to the circuit is disconnected at the main breaker before beginning installation.
- Mount the time switch securely in the desired location.
- Connect the power supply wires to the designated terminals.
- Connect the load wires to the appropriate output terminals.
- Ensure all terminal screws are firmly tightened and no wire insulation is caught under the terminal plate.
- Replace the plastic insulator covering the terminals before restoring power.
Refer to the wiring diagram printed on the inside of the enclosure for detailed connection instructions.
Operating Instructions
Manual ON/OFF Operation
In either AUTO or MANUAL mode, press the ON/OFF button to manually toggle the load. The display will indicate if the load is currently ON or OFF.
Programming Steps
The time switch allows for up to 28 events (14 ON / 14 OFF).
- Accessing Menus: Press the MODE button repeatedly to cycle through the programming menus (DATE, TIME, ON/OFF EVENTS).
- Setting Date: When "SET DATE" appears, use the + or - keys to enter the current date. Press ENTER to confirm.
- Setting Time: When "SET CLOCK" appears, use the + or - keys to enter the current time. Press ENTER to confirm.
- Setting ON/OFF Events: When "ON/OFF EVENTS" appears, press the + or - button. The display will show "12:00 AM" with the load status (ON/@) and event number. Use the + or - keys to set the desired ON or OFF time and day(s) for the event. Press the ON/OFF load button to toggle the load status (ON or OFF). To clear an event, select "(nil)". Maintenance
Battery Replacement
The time switch uses two industrial-grade AAA standard non-rechargeable 1.5-volt alkaline batteries for program retention.
- To replace the battery, locate the battery tray.
- Pull the battery tray out and downward to remove the battery holder.
- Replace the batteries, observing correct polarity.
- The batteries should be replaced approximately every 3 years after installation.
