Front Panel:
- Digital Display: Shows time, alarm status, and radio frequency.

Setup
1. Power Connection
- Insert the DC plug of the AC power adapter into the DC IN jack on the rear of the unit.
- Plug the AC power adapter into a standard wall outlet.
- The unit will power on and the display will illuminate.
2. Initial Time and Date Setup
The MI4290P can sync its time and date from a docked iPhone or iPod. Ensure your Apple device has the correct time and date set.
- Select the appropriate docking adapter for your iPhone/iPod model and place it in the docking cradle.
- Carefully dock your iPhone or iPod onto the connector.
- The unit will automatically attempt to sync the time and date from your docked device.
- If syncing does not occur, ensure your iPhone/iPod is properly seated and powered on.
3. FM Antenna Setup
Extend the FM wire antenna fully for optimal radio reception. Adjust its position if reception is poor.
Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off
- Press the Power button (usually integrated with the Function button) to turn the unit on or off.
2. Adjusting Volume
- Press the Volume Up (+) or Volume Down (-) buttons to adjust the listening volume.
3. Playing from iPhone/iPod
- Ensure your iPhone/iPod is properly docked.
- Press the Function/Mode button repeatedly until "iPod" or "iPhone" appears on the display.
- Use the Play/Pause button to start or pause playback.
- Use the Skip Forward or Skip Backward buttons to navigate tracks.
4. FM Radio Operation
- Press the Function/Mode button repeatedly until "FM" appears on the display.
- Manual Tuning: Press the Tune Up or Tune Down buttons briefly to adjust the frequency step by step.
- Auto Scan: Press and hold the Tune Up or Tune Down buttons to automatically scan for the next available station.
- Setting Presets:
- Tune to your desired station.
- Press and hold the Preset button (if available, or a combination of Tune/Memory button) until the preset number flashes.
- Use the Tune Up/Down buttons to select the desired preset number (P01-P10).
- Press the Preset button again to confirm.
- Recalling Presets: Briefly press the Preset button to cycle through saved stations.
5. Setting Alarms (Alarm 1 & Alarm 2)
The unit features two independent alarms.
- Press and hold the Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 button until the alarm time flashes on the display.
- Use the Tune Up/Down buttons to set the desired alarm hour, then press the Alarm button again to confirm.
- Repeat for minutes.
- After setting the time, you can select the alarm source (iPod/iPhone, FM Radio, or Buzzer) using the Tune Up/Down buttons. Press the Alarm button to confirm.
- To activate/deactivate an alarm, briefly press the corresponding Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 button. An indicator will appear on the display when the alarm is active.
6. Snooze Function
- When an alarm sounds, press the large Snooze button to temporarily silence the alarm for approximately 9 minutes.
7. Display Dimmer
- Press the Snooze/Dimmer button (when alarm is not sounding) to cycle through different display brightness levels.
8. Using the Remote Control
The included remote control allows for convenient operation from a distance. Insert a CR2025 battery (not supplied) into the remote before use.
- The remote control duplicates most functions available on the unit's top panel, including Power, Volume, Mode, Play/Pause, Skip, and Alarm settings.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Unit:
- Always unplug the unit from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish.
Battery Replacement (Remote Control):
- When the remote control's range decreases or it stops responding, replace the CR2025 lithium battery.
- Follow the instructions on the remote control to open the battery compartment and replace the battery, observing correct polarity.
