2. Safety Information
WARNING: Risk of Electrical Shock. More than one disconnect switch may be required to de-energize the equipment before servicing. Use 10-18 gauge copper conductors rated for at least 75°C (167°F) for all connections.
Installation and servicing of this electronic time switch should only be performed by qualified personnel in accordance with all national and local electrical codes. Always ensure power is disconnected at the circuit breaker before performing any installation, wiring, or maintenance. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or death.
- Do not remove the insulator.
- Ensure proper grounding.
- Verify voltage settings before applying power.
3. Setup and Installation
The ET1125C is designed for surface mounting and comes in a Type 1 steel enclosure. Before beginning installation, ensure the mounting location is suitable and all necessary tools and wiring are available.
3.1 Mounting
Mount the enclosure securely to a flat surface using appropriate fasteners. Ensure the enclosure is level and positioned to allow easy access for wiring and programming.

3.3 Wiring
Wiring must be performed by a qualified electrician. The unit supports 2-circuit/30-Amp rating. Connect the incoming power lines (LINE 1, LINE 2) and load lines (LOAD 1, LOAD 2) to the designated terminals. Ensure all connections are secure and comply with local electrical codes. For detailed wiring diagrams, please consult the official installation manual linked in the Support section.
4. Operating Instructions
The ET1125C allows for flexible programming and manual control of connected loads.
4.1 Initial Setup and Clock Setting
- After power-up, the display will show the current time and date. If incorrect, press the MODE button to enter the clock setting mode.
- Use the + and - buttons to adjust the hour, minute, day, month, and year.
- Press ENTER/NEXT to confirm each setting and move to the next.
- The unit automatically adjusts for Daylight Saving Time.
4.2 Programming Events
The ET1125C can store up to 28 ON/OFF events. Each event can be set for specific days of the week or daily.
- Press the MODE button until 'PROGRAM' or 'EVENT' appears on the display.
- Use ENTER/NEXT to cycle through event numbers (e.g., 01 ON, 01 OFF, 02 ON, etc.).
- For each event, use the + and - buttons to set the desired time and day(s) of the week.
- Specify which load (LOAD 1, LOAD 2, or both) the event applies to using the dedicated ON/OFF buttons for each load during programming.
- Press ENTER/NEXT to save the event and move to the next.
- To clear an event, navigate to the event and press CLEAR MEM.

4.3 Manual Override
The ET1125C offers both temporary and permanent manual override functions:
- Temporary Override: Press the ON/OFF button for LOAD 1 or LOAD 2. The load will switch state until the next scheduled event, at which point it will resume programmed operation.
- Permanent Override: Press and hold the ON/OFF button for LOAD 1 or LOAD 2 for several seconds until the display indicates 'MANUAL'. The load will remain in its current state, overriding all programmed events, until the manual override is cancelled by pressing the ON/OFF button again.
5. Maintenance
The Intermatic ET1125C is designed for minimal maintenance. Periodically inspect the enclosure for any signs of damage or corrosion. Ensure the area around the time switch is clean and free from obstructions.
5.1 Battery Replacement
The unit uses internal batteries to maintain time and program settings during power outages. If the 'LOW BATT' indicator appears on the display, the batteries should be replaced. Refer to the official installation manual for specific battery type and replacement procedures.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your ET1125C, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Display/No Power: Check the circuit breaker supplying power to the unit. Verify that the voltage selector switch is set correctly.
- Load Not Switching: Ensure the unit is in 'AUTO' mode and not in permanent manual override. Check programmed events for correct times and days. Verify wiring connections.
- Incorrect Time/Date: Reset the clock as described in Section 4.1. If the issue persists after power outages, the internal batteries may need replacement.
- Programming Difficulties: Refer to Section 4.2 for detailed programming steps. Use the CLEAR MEM button to reset events if necessary.
For persistent issues or complex problems, contact Intermatic customer support or consult a qualified electrician.
