5. Installation Instructions

Follow these steps to install your new Electrolux PureAdvantage™ EWF01 Water Filter. The process is generally similar for most internal refrigerator water filters.

  1. Locate the filter: Open your refrigerator door and locate the water filter housing, typically found in the upper right corner of the fresh food compartment.
  2. Remove the old filter:
    • Push the filter cover inward firmly until it pops out.
    • Twist the old filter counter-clockwise to unlock it.
    • Carefully pull the old filter straight out. Some water may drip, so have a towel ready.
  3. Prepare the new filter: Remove the new EWF01 filter from its packaging. Remove the protective caps from the ends of the filter.
  4. Insert the new filter:
    • Align the protruding portion on the filter with the notched-out area inside the refrigerator's filter housing.
    • Push the new filter straight into the housing until it stops.
    • Twist the filter clockwise until it clicks into place and the filter cover is flush.
  5. Check for leaks: After installation, visually inspect the area around the filter for any signs of water leakage.

6. Operating Instructions

After installing a new water filter, it is crucial to flush the system to ensure optimal performance and remove any trapped air or carbon fines.

  1. Flush the system: Dispense approximately 3-4 gallons of water through the refrigerator's water dispenser. This will clear any air from the system and remove loose carbon particles from the new filter.
  2. Discard initial ice: If your refrigerator has an ice maker, discard the first few batches of ice produced after filter replacement. This ensures any impurities from the new filter are not consumed.
  3. Reset filter indicator: Most refrigerators have a filter status indicator light. Refer to your refrigerator's user manual for specific instructions on how to reset this light after replacing the filter. Typically, this involves pressing and holding a "Filter Status" or "Reset" button for a few seconds.

7. Maintenance

To maintain the quality of your drinking water and the efficiency of your refrigerator, regular filter replacement is essential.
