Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your rice cooker, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Rice is too dry or hard. | Insufficient water; lid not sealed properly; rice not allowed to rest. | Ensure correct water-to-rice ratio. Check lid for proper closure. Allow rice to rest on 'KEEP WARM' for 5-10 minutes after cooking. |
| Rice is too wet or mushy. | Too much water; rice not rinsed. | Reduce water slightly for next batch. Rinse rice thoroughly before cooking. |
| Rice sticks to the bottom of the pot. | Not enough water; inner pot not properly cleaned; prolonged 'KEEP WARM' time. | Ensure correct water-to-rice ratio. Ensure inner pot is clean and nonstick coating is intact. Avoid leaving rice on 'KEEP WARM' for excessive periods. |
| Cooker does not turn on. | Not plugged in; power outage; faulty outlet. | Check if the power cord is securely plugged into both the cooker and a working electrical outlet. Test the outlet with another appliance. |
| E2 Error displayed. | Indicates an electrical wiring fault within the cooker. | Unplug the unit immediately. Do not attempt to repair. Contact Oster customer service for assistance. |
