Setup
1. Charging the Battery
Insert the included lithium-ion battery into the battery charger. Connect the charger to a power outlet. The charging indicator light will show the charging status. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.
2. Inserting the Battery and Memory Card
- Open the battery/memory card compartment cover on the bottom of the camera.
- Insert the charged battery according to the polarity indicators.
- Insert an SD or SDHC memory card into the card slot with the metal contacts facing the correct direction until it clicks into place. The camera supports SD/SDHC cards up to 8 GB.
- Close the compartment cover securely.
Operating the Camera
1. Power On/Off
Press the Power button located on the top of the camera to turn it on or off.
2. Taking Photos
- Turn on the camera.
- Frame your shot using the 3-inch LCD display.
- Press the Shutter button halfway down to activate autofocus. The focus frame will turn green when focus is achieved.
- Press the Shutter button fully down to capture the image.
3. Zoom Function
Use the zoom lever (W/T) to adjust the focal length. Push towards T for telephoto (zoom in) and towards W for wide-angle (zoom out). The camera features 5x optical zoom and 6x digital zoom.
4. Shooting Modes
The camera offers 20 scene programs, including Night Shot mode and Sport mode, to optimize settings for various shooting conditions. Access these modes via the MENU button and navigate to the scene mode options.
5. Video Recording
To record video, switch to video mode (refer to the camera's on-screen interface for the specific icon). Press the Shutter button to start and stop recording. Videos are recorded in MP4 format at 720p resolution with sound.
Advanced Features
- Optical Image Stabilizer: This feature helps reduce blur caused by camera shake, especially in low light or when using the zoom.
- Face Detection: The camera automatically detects and focuses on faces in the frame, optimizing exposure for portraits.
