Setup

1. Attaching the Fluid Container:

The SB84 airbrush offers a dual feed system. You can choose between the 1/3 oz gravity cup or the 3/4 oz siphon side-feed bottle.

• For Gravity Feed: Screw the 1/3 oz gravity cup onto the side port of the airbrush. Ensure it is securely fastened to prevent leaks.
• For Siphon Feed: Attach the 3/4 oz siphon side-feed bottle assembly to the side port. The siphon tube should extend into the bottle.

2. Selecting and Installing Nozzle Set:

The kit includes 0.2mm, 0.3mm, and 0.5mm nozzle sets. Each set consists of a needle, fluid tip, and air cap. Choose the appropriate size for your desired detail level.

1. Unscrew the air cap and nozzle cap from the front of the airbrush.
2. Carefully remove the existing fluid tip and needle.
3. Insert the desired fluid tip into the airbrush body.
4. Screw on the corresponding nozzle cap.
5. From the rear of the airbrush, gently insert the new needle until it seats properly. Be careful not to bend the tip.
6. Screw on the air cap.

Operating Instructions

1. Preparing Paint:

Thin your paint to the consistency of milk for optimal flow. Always filter paint to remove any particles that could clog the airbrush.

3. Adjusting Air Pressure:

Set your air compressor to the recommended pressure for your paint type and desired spray. A common starting point is 15-30 PSI.

4. Dual-Action Control:

• Air Flow: Press down on the trigger to release air.
• Fluid Flow: Pull back on the trigger to release paint. The further back you pull, the more paint is released.

Practice on a scrap surface to get a feel for the airbrush's response.

5. Adjusting Fluid Control Knob:

The fluid control knob at the rear limits how far back the trigger can be pulled, thus controlling the maximum paint flow. Turn clockwise for less paint, counter-clockwise for more.

6. Spray Patterns:

The SB84 can produce hairline details, overall sprays, or background sprays up to 1.5 inches wide, depending on the nozzle size and trigger control.

Maintenance

Proper cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and performance of your airbrush.

1. Cleaning After Each Use:

• Empty any remaining paint from the fluid cup/bottle.
• Add appropriate cleaning solution (water for acrylics, solvent for enamels/lacquers) to the cup.
• Spray the cleaning solution through the airbrush until it runs clear.
• Use a soft brush or cotton swab to clean the inside of the fluid cup.

2. Deep Cleaning (Periodically or When Clogged):

• Disassemble the airbrush: remove the air cap, nozzle cap, fluid tip, and needle.
• Soak the disassembled parts in an appropriate cleaning solution.
• Use specialized airbrush cleaning brushes to gently clean the fluid tip, nozzle, and airbrush body channels.
• Clean the needle with a soft cloth. Be extremely careful not to bend the needle tip.
