Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your EcoPlus ECOair 1 Commercial Grade Air Pump. Please read these instructions carefully before installation and use, and retain them for future reference.
What's in the Box
- Air pump
- Tubing
- 6 valve manifold
- 1/4” and 3/8” nozzles
Setup Instructions
- Placement: Position the air pump on a stable, level surface. Ensure it is in a dry area, away from direct water contact. The pump should be placed above the water level to prevent back-siphoning.
- Connect Tubing: Attach the provided tubing to the air outlet nozzle of the pump.
- Manifold Connection: Connect the other end of the tubing to the 6-valve manifold.
- Air Stone/Device Connection: Attach additional air tubing from the manifold's adjustable outlets to your air stones, diffusers, or other aeration devices in your aquarium, fish farm, or hydroponic system.
- Nozzle Selection: Use the appropriate 1/4” or 3/8” nozzle fittings as required by your setup.
- Power Connection: Plug the pump into a standard 120-volt electrical outlet. Ensure the power cord is not kinked or damaged.

Operating Instructions
- Power On: Once all connections are secure, turn on the power to the pump. The pump will immediately begin to generate air.
- Adjust Airflow: Use the adjustable valves on the 6-valve manifold to control the airflow to each connected device. Turn the valves clockwise to reduce airflow and counter-clockwise to increase it.
- Continuous Operation: This pump is designed for continuous operation to provide consistent oxygenation.
Video 1: This video demonstrates the EcoPlus ECOair 1 pump in action, showing its use in a compost tea aeration setup. It highlights the pump's ability to generate strong aeration for various applications.
Maintenance
- Regular Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the pump to prevent dust and debris buildup, which can obstruct ventilation.
- Air Filter: Check and clean or replace the air filter regularly to ensure optimal performance and prevent internal damage.
- Diaphragm Inspection: Inspect the diaphragms for wear and tear. Replace them if they show signs of damage or reduced performance.
- Ventilation: Ensure the pump has adequate ventilation to prevent overheating. Do not cover the pump during operation.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No air output | Power off; clogged air filter; damaged diaphragm; kinked tubing | Check power connection; clean/replace air filter; inspect/replace diaphragm; straighten tubing |
| Reduced air output | Clogged air filter; worn diaphragm; manifold valves closed; air stones clogged | Clean/replace air filter; inspect/replace diaphragm; open manifold valves; clean/replace air stones |
| Excessive noise/vibration | Improper placement; worn rubber feet; internal component issue | Ensure pump is on a stable, level surface; check rubber feet for wear; contact support if issue persists |
| Pump overheating | Poor ventilation; prolonged use in high temperatures | Ensure adequate airflow around the pump; avoid covering; consider operating in cooler conditions |
