- Attach the rear lens cap to the lens and the body cap to the camera to protect them from dust and damage.

4. Operating the Lens
Autofocus Operation
This lens supports fast and precise autofocus with compatible Micro Four Thirds cameras. Ensure your camera's focus mode is set to autofocus (AF). The lens will automatically adjust focus when the shutter button is half-pressed.
Manual Focus Operation
If your camera supports manual focus (MF) with this lens, you can rotate the focus ring on the lens barrel to adjust focus manually. Refer to your camera's manual for specific instructions on switching between AF and MF modes.
Aperture Control
The wide F1.7 maximum aperture allows for excellent performance in low-light conditions and enables the creation of shallow depth-of-field effects, often referred to as bokeh. Aperture settings are controlled via your camera body.
Fixed Focal Length Considerations
As a prime lens, the H-H020 has a fixed 20mm focal length. To change your framing, you will need to physically move closer to or further from your subject.
Note on Video Use
While the lens performs well for still photography, some users may notice a slight audible noise during autofocus when recording video. For critical video applications where silent operation is paramount, consider testing the lens with your specific camera setup or exploring alternative lenses designed with quieter video autofocus motors.
5. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your lens.
Cleaning the Lens
- Lens Elements: Use a soft lens brush to remove dust, then gently wipe with a clean microfiber lens cloth. For stubborn smudges, apply a small amount of lens cleaning solution to the cloth, not directly to the lens.
- Lens Body: Wipe the exterior of the lens with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
Storage
When not in use, always attach both the front and rear lens caps to protect the lens elements. Store the lens in a dry, cool place, preferably in a lens pouch or camera bag, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your lens, try the following solutions:
- Autofocus is slow or inaccurate:
- Ensure there is sufficient light on your subject.
- Clean the electronic contacts on both the lens and camera body with a dry, clean cloth.
- Update your camera's firmware to the latest version.
- Images are blurry or soft:
- Check that the lens elements are clean and free from smudges.
- Ensure the lens is securely attached to the camera body.
- Verify your camera's focus settings and ensure proper focus acquisition.
- Lens not recognized by camera:
- Remove and reattach the lens, ensuring it clicks into place.
- Clean the electronic contacts on both the lens and camera body.
- Restart your camera.
