1. Introduction and Overview

The Logitech Performance MX Wireless Mouse is designed to provide precise and comfortable navigation across various surfaces. It features Logitech's exclusive Darkfield Laser Tracking technology, allowing it to track on surfaces where standard mice may fail, including glass. The included Logitech Unifying receiver offers a convenient wireless connection, capable of linking up to six compatible Logitech devices simultaneously.

3. Setup Instructions

3.1 Connecting the Unifying Receiver

  1. Locate the Logitech Unifying receiver in the mouse packaging.
  2. Plug the Unifying receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  3. Turn on the mouse using the On/Off switch located on the bottom of the mouse.
  4. Your computer should automatically detect and connect to the mouse.

3.2 Installing Logitech Options Software (Optional)

For advanced customization of buttons and settings, download and install the Logitech Options software from the official Logitech website. This software allows you to personalize your mouse experience.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Darkfield Laser Tracking

The Darkfield Laser Tracking technology allows the Performance MX mouse to track on a wider variety of surfaces, including clear glass (minimum 4mm thick) and high-gloss surfaces, unlike traditional optical or laser mice. This provides consistent and precise cursor control wherever you work.

4.2 Hyper-Fast Scrolling

The scroll wheel offers two modes:

  • Hyper-Fast Mode: Spin the almost frictionless scroll wheel to fly through long documents and web pages.
  • Click-by-Click Mode: Press the button directly below the scroll wheel to switch to a precise, line-by-line scrolling experience, ideal for lists, slides, and photos.

4.3 Customizable Buttons

The mouse features several programmable buttons, including convenient thumb buttons. These can be customized using the Logitech Options software to perform various tasks such as navigating web histories, quick-zoom, or other application-specific functions.

4.4 Multi-Device Switching

The Logitech Unifying receiver allows you to connect up to six compatible devices. If you have multiple Unifying-compatible devices, you can switch between them seamlessly without needing to plug and unplug receivers.

5. Charging and Battery

The Logitech Performance MX mouse is equipped with a rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery. To charge the mouse:

  1. Connect the Micro-USB charging cable to the port on the front of the mouse.
  2. Plug the other end of the USB cable into an available USB port on your computer.
  3. The mouse can be used while it is charging.
  4. A battery indicator light will inform you when a recharge is needed.
