Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Moka Elettrika.
6.1 Daily Cleaning
- After each use, allow the coffee maker to cool completely.

- DO NOT place the Moka Elettrika in a dishwasher. It is not dishwasher safe.
- DO NOT immerse the electric base or power cord in water or any other liquid. Wipe the base with a damp cloth if necessary.
- Periodically check the gasket and filter plate for wear. Replace them if they appear brittle or damaged to maintain a proper seal and brewing quality. Replacement parts are available from Bialetti authorized dealers.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Moka Elettrika, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Coffee does not brew or brews slowly. | Too much water, coffee grounds too fine/tamped, clogged filter, insufficient power. | Ensure water is below safety valve. Use medium-fine grounds, do not tamp. Clean filter plate. Check power connection. |
| Coffee tastes weak or watery. | Not enough coffee grounds, coffee grounds too coarse, water level too high. | Fill filter funnel completely. Use medium-fine grounds. Ensure water is filled only to the safety valve. |
| Water leaks from the side of the pot. | Pot not screwed on tightly, worn gasket, coffee grounds on rim. | Ensure upper and lower chambers are screwed on tightly. Inspect and replace gasket if worn. Clean coffee grounds from the rim before assembly. |
| Appliance does not turn on. | No power, faulty switch. | Check if the power cord is securely plugged into the outlet and the electric base. Ensure the power switch is pressed. Test the outlet with another appliance. |
