3. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the rice cooker and all accessories from the packaging. Check for any damage.
  2. Components: Ensure all components are present: main unit, inner pot, measuring cup, rice spatula, and power cord.
  3. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the inner pot, measuring cup, and rice spatula with mild detergent and warm water. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth.
  4. Placement: Place the rice cooker on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the unit for ventilation, especially around the steam vent. Avoid placing it near walls or under cabinets.
  5. Power Connection: Plug the power cord securely into the rice cooker's power inlet and then into a grounded electrical outlet.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Rice Cooking (White Rice)

  1. Measure Rice: Use the provided measuring cup to measure the desired amount of rice. One cup is approximately 180ml.
  2. Wash Rice: Wash the rice thoroughly in the inner pot until the water runs clear. Drain the water.
  3. Add Water: Add water up to the corresponding water level mark inside the inner pot for the type and amount of rice. For example, for 3 cups of white rice, fill to the "White Rice 3" mark.
  4. Place Inner Pot: Place the inner pot into the main unit, ensuring it is seated correctly. Close the lid securely.
  5. Select Menu: Press the "Menu" button to select "White Rice" (白米).
  6. Start Cooking: Press the "Cook" (炊飯) button to start cooking. The cooking indicator will illuminate.
  7. Completion: Once cooking is complete, the rice cooker will beep, and automatically switch to "Keep Warm" mode. Open the lid, fluff the rice with the spatula, and serve.

4.2 Using "Premium Cooking" Mode (極上炊き)

This mode enhances the sweetness and texture of white rice by extending the soaking and steaming phases.

  1. Follow steps 1-4 from "4.1 Basic Rice Cooking".
  2. Select Menu: Press the "Menu" button to select "White Rice" (白米), then use the arrow keys to choose "Premium" (極上). There may be multiple premium settings (e.g., 極上1, 極上2, 極上3). Select your preferred setting.
  3. Start Cooking: Press the "Cook" (炊飯) button. The cooking time will be longer than regular white rice.

4.3 Timer Function (予約)

The timer function allows you to set a specific time for cooking to complete.

  1. Prepare rice and water in the inner pot as usual.
  2. Close the lid.
  3. Press the "Timer" (予約) button.
  4. Use the hour and minute adjustment buttons to set the desired completion time.
  5. Press the "Cook" (炊飯) button to activate the timer. The timer indicator will light up.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your rice cooker. Always unplug the appliance before cleaning.

5.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Inner Pot: Wash the inner pot with a soft sponge and mild dish soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scrubbers, as this can damage the fluororesin coating. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  • Inner Lid / Steam Vent Cap: Remove the inner lid and steam vent cap. Wash them with mild detergent and water. Rinse and dry completely before reattaching.
  • Rice Spatula & Measuring Cup: Wash with mild detergent and water.

5.2 Exterior Cleaning

  • Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Clean the control panel gently with a dry or slightly damp cloth.

5.3 Storage

When not in use for an extended period, ensure the rice cooker is clean and dry. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

6. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Rice is undercooked or hard. Insufficient water, old rice, or incorrect cooking mode. Add more water next time. Use fresh rice. Ensure correct cooking mode is selected.
Rice is overcooked or mushy. Too much water, or incorrect cooking mode. Reduce water next time. Ensure correct cooking mode is selected.
Rice cooker does not turn on. Power cord not properly connected, or power outage. Check power cord connection. Verify power supply.
Steam leaks from lid. Lid not closed properly, or inner lid/gasket is dirty/damaged. Ensure lid is securely closed. Clean or inspect inner lid and gasket for damage.
